The building is old and any noise easily propagates into the room. Especially the cleaning staff were loud. The room I stayed was small so that chair could hardly fit behind the desk. The lightning of the room was off too - very cold light for room is annoying imho. The wires were dangling form ceiling - lousy finishing.

I didn’t like the fact that I had to give $150 deposit on top of the exorbitant amount of cost for the small room. They say it could take up to six weeks to get the refund back if all is OK with the room. you would think with a room that cost $240 a night could have at least a small continental breakfast for travelers.

Great location; just a few metres from one of the main TTC lines, and easy access to coffee shops, dining and entertainment. The room itself was fine, but we found several discrepancies in the bathroom (towel racks and toilet paper holders that fell off the wall, and a shower curtain rod that drooped like someone had done chin-ups on it). We didn't mention them until our 3rd day, after which someone immediately came and fixed them -- except for the shower curtain. So it was just a matter of someone in housekeeping should have noticed them and reported them sooner. But aside from that, the room was perfectly fine and comparable to our previous stays. We would definitely come back again, but would also definitely alert the staff to any issues sooner than we did, since they seemed able to fix most of them within an hour or two! The lounge and food service was new to us since our last visit, and we tried the bar but weren't super impressed. There are plenty of better options within a few hundred metres but it's a good alternative if the weather is bad or you just want to stay in.

They left a note in the room advising the elevator would be out of service the next day for scheduled maintenance. We would have booked another hotel had we known. Husband is ill and had to walk up to the 4th floor. The hotel was very nice otherwise-Staff were very friendly- bed and breakfast option was delicious at the cute little cafe downstairs. Just wish we had known beforehand about the elevator.
