This property should not be listed on Expedia.I have stayed at 3 other Hotels in Bakersfield and never had any issues like this property. First of all, I learned a valuable lesson. You get what you pay for. My GF was hospitalized nearby so I decided to book a room literally the last minute. I wasn't familiar with the area, but the area turned out to be very sketchy. There were no shortage of zombie looking drug transients roaming across the street and on the sidewalk in front of the property. The exterior of the property was filthy! The walkways were soiled and dirty, the stairways were chiped and unsafe. I didn't notice any security guards on the property, which has access to the general public. I chose not to use the elevator because of my safety. Once inside my room, the chain lock on my door was broken off. There was no way I'd stay in that room without a chained lock on my door for added security. I returned to the pexi-glassed side window where the receptionist was located and was offered a second room. The bathroom sink in the second room didn't look like it was cleaned in a year and had red sticky substance in it. I wiped it off the best I could and then covered it with a clean bathroom towel so it wouldn't splash when I turned on the water. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY IF YOU VALUE SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS!!! I couldn't wait for morning to get the hell out of there!
