To be honest I am not a fan of spa facilities but my wife loves them and she found the spa facilities here very mediocre. For me the hotel whilst in a beautiful setting was very expensive and did not live up to the price. We had a full cooked breakfast which was good but any alternative, even things that were clearly less expensive to provide were charged extra as was items provided in the room such as the use of the coffee machine and the bottled water! We ate one meal in the restaurant and frankly it was faux fine dining and again the price was high. Bath is a tourist city yet the hotel made little effort to facilitate sight seeing such as a shuttle bus to town (a 20/25 minute walk) Our stay wasn’t bad we had no problems but for the price not a great experience

Hotel in a grand building with well kept grounds. We stayed in a suite which was large and comfortable. Some fittings in room and throughout hotel are a bit worn and could use some maintenance. Swimming pool is a good amenity but can get busy. Slow and somewhat chaotic service in restaurant at breakfast the main thing that lets this hotel down. Staff were friendly though. This hotel has the potential to be very good but slightly misses the mark in terms of service and maintenance given the price point.

The room was spacious, with nice decor and a veranda with double doors, we slept well, but in the first night I could smell on the pillows a musty sleep smell which was really off putting. The breakfast was awful, the full English was missing items, all of it was cold, along with the toast that was bought 10mins before we got our breakfast, the bacon and sausage didn’t even look cooked, so we didn’t have breakfast again for our 4 night stay, we complained about the breakfast, but weren’t even offered a refund! The spa was nice, 4 different steam/sauna rooms and an ice room, alongside a small swimming pool and an outdoor jacuzzi pool with lots of sun loungers, the spa could do with some tlc, it had missing tiles and mouldy areas and there was a wasp problem, they appeared to be nesting under the wooden decking. The grounds were beautiful and the location was perfect, just a short stroll to bath city centre and it was so quiet. We would return but we definitely wouldn’t have breakfast or stay for food at all in the hotel, as it they can’t get a full English right I dread to think what the actual restaurant food is like! However there are lots of gorgeous restaurants and cafes in bath we ventured many!

Overall, the stay was not charming, and there were several major drawbacks. We encountered numerous setbacks during our visit to the hotel. Unfortunately, our child was not able to enjoy the experience as much as we had hoped. We also had complaints about the food, especially the breakfast, which did not meet our expectations. Therefore, I would advise future guests to consider alternative options for their morning meal. The hot water in the room was not hot enough, but rather lukewarm. The hotel itself appears very dated, with many amenities and pieces of furniture in need of replacement. The general condition of the hotel suggests that it would benefit greatly from renovation. This reflects my personal opinion based on our experience.
