The room was very nice. However, even though we were in a non-smoking room it still smelled like smoke. Gross. We went to Kankakee grill for dinner. Not a good experience. My daughter ordered the surf and turf. The steak was raw and the lobster was cold. They did make a different dish for her and took the surf and turf off of the bill. Staff was very nice.

I would definitely go back to stay at Four Winds. I'm not a huge gambler but it was fun to play some of the slot machines and the hotel felt so classy. Our room was perfect in every way! It was a short 10" drive to the beach at New Buffalo but then had its own awesome pool to swim in later in the afternoon or early evening! Next time we go we will definitely eat at the buffet! The hotel offers so much for its guests!

Overall great stay!

Four Winds is a very nice facility - however a couple things have slipped since our visit one year ago. The carpet was visibly dirty in our hallway, room, and parts of the lobby. The 3rd floor hallway smelled of smoke and the carpet in our room was damp. There was no pool server and the poolside menu has changed a lot. We missed the delicious appetizers that were on the menu last year. We kept the room temp set at 60 and it was still not very cool and it felt damp. We were told we would have a room on the 9th floor but then there was a problem and we got put on the 3rd floor. However, the manager (May) was very helpful and offered us a comp to make up for the room issue. Overall, it was a very nice stay and we would return. But don't stop keeping up on all the little details that make the place great - clean carpets and clean smelling areas go a long way in impressing customers!
