Great Stay at The Oleana

Had a great stay at the Oleana. Lovely, helpful staff. Nice breakfast- and stylish rooms. We had rooms that were nice sized- Saturday was a bit noisy, but I was told that in advance. Location is great- would highly recommend.

I was overjoyed staying in this boutique hotel- Oleana. The staff was extremely helpful, property spotlessly clean and the breakfast couldn’t be more sumptuous. Most of all is the location. Will recommend this hotel to all those visiting Bergen.

Very good hotel

I think hotel Oleana is a very good hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean room, etc. However, comparing with other hotel, it is slightly worse. It is possible because of my room. The location is also very nice. I stayed on the 6th floor and the ceiling is not very tall, especially near the door of the toilet. The main problem I had was that my room is next to the elevator. Whenever the elevator moves (not even at your floor), there are 2 loud clicking/knocking sound which is very disturbing during sleep. Luckily I brought earplug and it helps a lot. The nearby places are quite loud as well, which was surprisingly a contrast to another hotel next to it. The breakfast is very good as well. Although it wasn't the best when compared to the other hotel next to it. Overall I think Hotel Oleana is a very good hotel, despite having some minor thing.

Great location as short walk from Train station and to main Bergen attractions. Try to upgrade your room to be in the front. No AC as was there during an unseasonable hot week. Don’t let the funky bathroom put you off. Staff is fabulous loved my introduction to Norway hospitality

I was staying here with my significant other for vacation. We stayed 7 nights while doing day trips around Norway. This was an excellent room, with some minor issues. On the good side: Very clean. Spectacular breakfast buffet. Friendly and responsive staff. For the negatives: The main issue was that it was an extraordinarily small room. We've stayed in small rooms before (e.g. in NYC), but this takes the cake. If our suitcases were any larger (we travel with just barely too big to be checkable sized rollerboards) we would not have been able to have walkable pathways. (There's no dresser or drawers to use, so you really are stuck organizing things in your suitcases.) We had narrow paths around the bed and to the bathroom, and that was it. There were some stubbed toes. Second - a more minor issue: we ran out of liquid soap in the shower at one point. When the room was serviced, it was not refilled, so we requested it in the evening, and the night staff simply filled the bottle with water. The next day when we found this, we complained to the manager on duty who immediately fixed the problem, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Beyond these two negatives, the place was excellent! All-in-all, if the rooms were a bit bigger, I would definitely be back.

Phenomenal hotel with beautiful, elegant rooms and lovely, helpful staff. We had to skip sitting down for breakfast to catch a train to the fjords but the staff let us go in early and box up whatever we wanted to go! I would give it 6 stars if I could!

A fantastic location in the heart of Bergen. The beds were comfortable and our room overlooked a courtyard that was so quiet. The staff was wonderful. The highlight was the extensive breakfast buffet. Fresh baked bread, cheese selection, frittata, vegetables, meats, yoghurt with every possible topping and finally an abundance of pastries. Of course juices and coffee. I could only manage to eat a portion of the extensive offerings.

The hotel is ‘cool’ BUT the clear glass doors on the toilet area is a bit much. Total lack of privacy. The hosts at the reception area provided different information to different guests. When we checked in the host did not tell us at all about the fact that the two restaurants that were adjacent to the hotel both would give us a 25% discount if we ate there- I only learned that because today I was sitting and waiting to leave the hotel when I heard another host tell a couple about that. Perhaps ALL staff members need same training or a checklist to make sure each guest has the same information. The hotel breakfast was just ok. Very little variation from day to day.
