Disappointed with Hotels.com :(

We were very disappointed that The Hilton Metropole had no reservation for us despite us having an email confirmation from Hotels.com showing our room had been paid for a year ago. Several staff looked at their monitors but could not find the reservation we then had to move around the corner to speak to someone else which was quite embarrassing. They did assure us that they would be able to find us a room but it was a bit uncomfortable.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were initially advised that the rooms we had booked were not available which was rather alarming but we spoke with Murat, the guest relations manager and he was brilliant! He explained that our rooms were still being cleaned but would be available shortly. We had a drink at the bar and then Murat showed us to our rooms and offered us complementary parking as an apology for the miscommunication. The rooms were absolutely lovely and had enormous beds! Breakfast in the morning was delicious with so much choice.

Decent hotel, shame it was uncomfortable.

Enormous but rock hard bed and lumpy pillows. Poor sound proofing from inside and out. Fixed narrow shower. However, enjoyed the Brightside restaurant, hotel was clean and in good nick, staff were polite and professional and it’s very convenient for the NEC.

Lovely stay, given an upgraded room as it was a quiet evening. Didn’t use the bar or restaurant so can’t comment on that. Staff at check in friendly and helpful.

Room was not ready until 4.15pm. We were due to meet friends at 4.30 so this meant having virtually no time to get ready in the room before going out. The only compensation giving was a drink voucher for the bar. Just a bit disappointing.

Stayed here for a gig at the arena. Great location. Comfortable bed, dated room in some aspects e.g. bathroom but powerful shower and very clean. Able to check in early which was handed. Made use of gym facilities.
