Poor service at reception, but hotel was alright

I had booked 2 rooms, a standard twin for a friend and an executive twin for me and another friend. I called the hotel twice to ensure that my friend having the standard room would have the correct room. I was assured it was recorded against the booking. When I arrived, my friend had already booked in and had been given the executive room. The reception manager was rude, he didn’t believe I had called despite me showing him my call history. He said they were fully booked and he couldn’t move me to an executive room and I should sort it out with my friend (she was already unpacked etc) which I wasn’t prepared to do. Eventually he offered me free breakfast, I had already paid for breakfast!! He finally offered us free evening meal on the second night, Howe this was worth £33 and the extra cost of the executive room was almost £100! They also tried to charge me for the room that I’d already paid for. The hotel itself was nice, the room large, clean and comfortable. The food wasn’t the best. It was just let down by poor service when booking in

Not the best experience of my stay here. Firstly girl on the desk was rude and not informative. The room felt dirty and not cleaned properly. The rooms had an odd smell. The whole place felt run down. Used the swimming pool and water was murky and pool and changing rooms were disgusting. The food was like warm in the dining area. The night sleep was terrible. There was a constant what I can describe as a hairdryer doing off every minute. Which was hard to sleep. I won’t be staying here again.

Hotel was handy in distance to where we were visiting crufts Nice hotel Was surprised that house keeping wasnt done daily Bed wasnt made or clean towels or top up of tea/coffee etc daily Coffee nachine in room but no pods for machine in room Otherwise a nice stay The parking eye was a surprise and hooe that its correct and no tickets are given Did chevk several times that the car was booked in correctly

The only bad thing i can say, is about the room doors, they slam shut. So if your neighbour is in and out they really bang and keep you awake..Room was lovely had everything needed. Dog friendly, nice area out front to walk tve dog. Big carpark.

Room was large but furnished with old bed and dresser, etc. Pillow did not have a pillow case. Woken at 06:30 by bottles being collect fro 4 large bins under my bedroom window. Then at 06:45 the kitchen staff started a loud discussion at the kitchen door. Bathroom was freezing and jas no plug in the sink. Room was not cheap at £119 with no Breakfast.

This property advertises as having "Full Spa" and massages available. The Spa massage service stopped 3 years ago allegedly. The hotel needs a deep clean, bad dust in rooms. Bed Pillows like concrete, ended up using cushion from seat.

Reception staff were not welcoming. Our room had stains from a leak , peeling paint and a broken toilet seat. Room walls are very thin and we could hear the solo traveller next door yawning. Mattress was very comfortable but duvet did not fit the bed. Room and hotel were clean. Not a great choice in the restaurant but all food cooked well.

Room was better than I thought it would be , good clean room and bathroom a lot better than I expected, the food menu is a carvery £14 .50 3 course s could do with improvement on the cooking was a bit of a let down. Would stay again but be better eating out or taking pot noodles

First they did not clean the room even though we asked front and reception beautiful but room looked outdated wall paper coming off My partner injured herself because tv was too close to bathroom door to room sometimes Was unlocked and did not feel safe and waste of time money and couldn't go out because of injury too my other half's eye never again be careful.

Not staying here again

I do alot of travel for work and privat. This hotel looks really good from outside and even online. However, reality is that this hotel is very old and would need a major renovation. The rooms are clean but they are very run down and they do smell weird. The restaurant has to be pre booked or you can not eat there. Then you are left with the bar that takes about an hour to do a pizza... I was there for 4 nights so I know it was standard... Tried the wellness that is 20 years old and it gives an impression it is dirty..... In winter months the lobby is not really heated, meaning you are going to be cold.
