Room and hallway smelled of smoke so badly we needed to purchase air fresheners. It STUNK. Bathroom toilet and tub were broken and the door key had to be reset multiple times in addition to the door itself being challenging to operate. Hotel is VERY dated, and though it was clean it wasn’t as clean as I would like with stained towels, walls and even ceilings and rugs. Room fridge worked but had no shelves or freezer. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, freshly prepared, but on flimsy paper plates, almost as flimsy as the ONE roll of toilet paper per room. No elevator so if you cannot do stairs you would have needed to know this in advance. Room itself was quiet and temp controlled with a lake view through dirty windows. But the layout was odd, clearly jamming two beds into a space only meant to hold one. As a result no nightstands (for my CPAP), no access to outlets that weren’t behind furniture, no room to manouver and you could only watch tv from one vantage point and had to look way up to do it (one of the beds stuck in a corner). Definitely no room for a crib or wheelchair or walker, and the bathroom was only accessible and functional for a skinny person who likes to bend a lot. Parking lot floods during downpours and is poorly lit. There is a nightclub and restaurant on premise that we did not use. For an extended stay I would absolutely not choose this hotel again.

All the rooms need new bathroom not just tile they have old-fashioned bathtubs in all the rooms. The hallways are in halfway decent condition. The restaurant is not open on Mondays on Tuesdays.

Having a bar and restaurant with entertainment on the weekend was an unexpected plus. The pub fare in the restaurant was unexpectedly awesome. The house margaritas are lethal in a good way! There's a few things that could use some updating such as bedding and room carpets and furnishings (clean but kinda worn) but everything was peachy nothing was wrong at all with the accomodations. The rooms are actually pretty darn nice. The staff is super helpful and friendly. My only complaint is even though there is a sign on the door saying to use the middle part of the parking lot to smoke people were smoking right in the entryway. However i don't expect the desk clerk to police full grown adults that should know better. I feel like i got a great deal

They were amazing, very accommodating. We had alot planned for our trip, so since they have live music fridays and saturdays, the man sorting our room selected one upstairs and towards the otherside of the inn. We appreciated that so much, and were able to get the rest we needed each night of our stay. Clean, comfy, and a place that we would return to.

The Good: Let’s start with the undeniable charm: the location. You simply can’t beat it. The hotel is perched right on the lake, far from the buzz of traffic, with peaceful, scenic views that belong on a postcard. You might even be tempted to forgive everything else… almost. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful—clearly doing their best with what they’ve been given. We're especially grateful to one of the young men at the reception for putting us in a room with a truly stunning view—it made the first impression a positive one. The Bad: The rooms and hotel itself appear to be locked in a Cold War-era time capsule. Expect vintage everything—except charm. We discovered some unexpected "amenities," like food leftovers near the bed. Soundproofing leaves much to be desired. We didn’t need to turn on a white noise machine—the shower from the room below provided all the cascading thunder of Niagara Falls. At 2 a.m. And let’s not forget the pillows—thin, uneven, and generously filled with lumps. Bonus touches included a bathroom ceiling fan that looked like someone had tried to rip it out of the ceiling during an escape attempt. The Ugly: The breakfast buffet was... well, they called it a buffet. That’s technically true, in the same way that a few cereal boxes, a toaster, and some mystery eggs can be called a feast. If “basic” had a downgrade, this would be it. In conclusion, this is a two-star hotel, and—credit where credit’s due—it absolutely delivers on that promise.
