Middle of the road. Expected better...

It was ok. Nothing special - I did expect a little more for the price. Not in the best part of town but quite central. My biggest issue was the breakfast. The bacon was like cardboard and sausages were the other end of the spectrum - lifeless and pale. Staff were friendly enough but it didn't feel welcoming. Meh....

Great location close to shops and seafront. All within a few minutes of walking distance. Although no restaurant within hotel, snacks were available and restaurants were within walking distance. Gym facilities were good. Receptionist were very friendly and welcoming. Car park was nearby and secure. Would have been nice to have had a fridge in the room.

I must say the hotel condition looks ostensibly very good. Booked two rooms for this family trip but one room had a smelly bathroom. Suspect the toilet bowl wasn't cleaned and sanitized thoroughly. The air con didn't work well either. It gave out a nasty smell when I turned it down. Wish the windows could be opened. Didn't sleep well as a result. To my surprise, the breakfast plates and mups were not clean either. I stayed in other Hampton by Hilton hotels before and all were spotlessly clean. This one is quite disappointing.

Pros: - Room was reasonably clean and comfortable for 1 nights stay. - The staff were very nice and helpful. - They offered gluten free items for breakfast. Cons: - Dirty tiles on bathroom floor and shower. - Grotty brown sofa that needs updating in room. - Loud knocking noises suspected from pipes started at 5am and continued intermittently until 8am in the morning by then I gave up on sleeping. - Shower is a ring that sprays water in a few directions (likely due to limescale buildup) and has bad water pressure. Impossible to wash long hair. - No fridge in room to store your own milk for using kettle for teas. - Continental cooked breakfast items cold and made from poor quality ingredients, tasted quite bad.

Excellent Stay perfect for a relaxing seaside getaway. The staff were extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. The room was spotless, and had a comfortable bed, it even had a decent size kettle for making hot drinks. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, offering a continental and full English options. The location of this hotel is also perfect, a five minute walk to the town centre, the gardens and the pier Highly recommended and we will stay again on our next visit
