Negatives …..Our room had a large crack in the ceiling above the bed, where they have had a massive leak, it looked like it was going to fall in on us at any moment !! Bath had a chip in it, bathroom lights only 1 working out of 4 and shower was just lukewarm even on hottest setting . Positives …. Lovely breakfast and staff, great location.

Lovely staff

The staff were amazing, very friendly with great service. The only downside was the dreadful noise from the onsite nightclub that went on until 4am so didn't get much sleep on the Saturday. Much better on the Sunday when the club wasn't open.

This is an older property, the third floor bedrooms were chilly and generated a lot of condensation which was uncomfortable to sleep in. Generally the rooms just need updating but the communal areas are well looked after and much warmer.

One night stay

Old large hotel not geared for comfort but for music and bar which was good. Room very basic usual old hotel en-suite small as was room bed very comfortable and small shower but good pressure and hot water. No where to eat on Monday in the hotel . Normally a sushi bar open but believe on Sundays they do a good roast. The breakfast and service was excellent though. Good for one night stay as opposite BiC which we wanted. Managed to park in gated car park as not too busy but they won’t guarantee you a place even with a disabled badge😩

Don’t bother!

Very shabby and tired noisy single room. The floorboards were so creaky that you felt uncomfortable walking around because of the noise. Very outdated decor. Very old fashioned. Haven’t seen a toilet like that or the type of lampshade for years! Overlooked the car park and there was a lot of noise by the bins! Desperately in need of a total refurb.

Perfect for what we wanted

We had one night here and it was lovely friendly staff ,clean room comfy bed on the 3rd floor. Easy quick walking distance to the beach . Lovely fresh breakfast and happy hour cocktails in the bar.

Lovely quiet stay!

I stayed from Sunday to Tuesday and the hotel was silent! I did start thinking I may have been the only one there! The room was very clean and had everything I needed. Being by the coast, it does get really cold at night which I'm not used to being from London so Tanya, the receptionist, kindly provided me with a portable heater as the radiators in the rooms were on a timer and did not switch on. I loved the décor of the hotel, it's absolutely beautiful, the wood against the red really works making it look very luxurious! The only thing that I feel is a major concern is how creaky the floors are!! Not just in the rooms but in the corridors, I'm guessing when the hotel is full, this could be an issue for people staying there. Overall, I had a really nice stay. The hotel is in a really convenient place being a few minutes walk from the beach and pier, and across the road is the BIC which I know they have music concerts there. Tanya the receptionist was very polite, welcoming and always had a smile on her face! She gave me all the information I needed about my stay and did not hesitate to help if I needed anything. She truly is a valuable member of staff. I had the breakfast on one of my mornings there and it was delicious so I would say take this option with your booking! I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. I would be booking again without a doubt.

Tired bedroom decor but clean and great low price

So very cheaply priced. Building getting tired and rooms in need of decoration but were spotlessly clean. All staff were friendly and helpful. Bar / club area was exceptional. Breakfast great quality too Amazing value for Bournemouth. We will use again Perfect location too , easy secure car parking

The staff were very courteous and polite, parking was £8 on their grounds which I thought was reasonable, especially when they let us use the car park till the next book in at 2pm even though we booked out by 11 am. There is a night club/late bar on the ground floor so be aware that you can still hear this on the second floor which is where our room was. It wasn't ridiculously loud to be fair.It didn't keep us awake and a bonus if you fancy an after hours night-cap.

Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay. Room felt a bit dated although we had a very big room with a comfortable bed. Bathroom could do with a curtain rather than a net curtain as when you have the light on at night you feel overlooked by neighbouring properties. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice and decent size. Parking was good and secure. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely return.

Fantastic hotel….especially if you love music !

Fantastic service from check in to breakfast. Everyone very professional and friendly. Only one downside is the loud music from the club below…till 4am Shame as hotel is in a lovely central location and everything else was perfect !

The hotel's situation is perfect, walking distance to the glorious beach but also shops and a good variety of restaurants. The staff were very friendly. Our room was clean but best of all the bed was extremely comfortable.

The Royal Exeter hotel

Nice hotel with an adjoining sushi bar. Sadly, we were not allowed to eat in the restaurant, as there were only two groups. The chef bought our breakfast to our room. It was delicious, but I’d have preferred it at a table. The staff were all friendly and the place was lovely.
