bed was very hard to sleep in. lots of background noise , wasn’t a great night sleep at all, when we arrived they were no cups for the complimentary drinks there was spillage all over the table. Wasn’t very clean in places and also the staff wasn’t very helpful other than a lady we spoke to in the morning regarding our stay. wouldn’t be coming back i’m again i’m afraid

Overall, the property and the room felt dated, poorly maintained, and represented poor value for money. For the whole of our 3 day trip, 2 of the 3 lifts were out of order, meaning a ~10 minute wait for an empty-enough lift from the 9th floor, which in itself was unacceptable enough. The room itself is clearly in need of some refurbishment: - the mattress was hard as a rock - side panels under the radiator had falled off - The bathroom was tired with cracked tiles - The bathroom ventilation vent was caked with dust - The bathroom door lock didn't work - The noise insulation might as well not have existed - very easy to hear a conversation next door, and constant hallway noise Additionally, two pillows had marks on, the tea/coffee/milks were not replaced during the room service, and there appeared to be an old stain or iron burn on the floor which hadn't been patched. I would expect a lot better from a Marriott and given the amount of money paid, and could not recommend staying here based on this particular visit and room.

I enjoyed my stay overall at the hotel. The room I stayed in was spacious, the shower was great, and there were facilities in the room to make a tea in the morning before I checked out. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads station, and a couple of minutes walk from the main shopping district in the city centre. One downside was soundproofing of the rooms. There were a few other people (a family with young children) staying in the adjacent rooms were talking loudly in the corridor, and going between each other’s rooms, between 10.15pm and 11pm or so. And, each time their doors shut, it was pretty loud. This stopped me getting to sleep, and I had to wake up early on the Sunday morning to travel home - so not ideal. Another downside was the lifts. When I returned to my room on Saturday night, only one lift seemed to be operating. I had to wait a while, and my room was fairly high up, so stairs weren’t an option. On the morning of check out, there was a wait for the lift then too - by the time it reached the terrace floor, it was pretty full. I get that it gets busier in the morning due to breakfast, but it would have been ideal if the lifts were more frequent. Otherwise, a decent hotel.
