The room was very hot with zero air circulation. We could open the window a crack to get a little bit of air; however there were people screaming outside all night. The smell in the hotel was bad. The room was claustrophobic. Check in staff was nice however and there was convenient parking for £20 a night. We had an early flight in the morning so probably got no more than 20 minutes of sleep. We would have been better off sleeping in the car somewhere on a side street.

Very noisy location with public busyness in Grassmarket area until about 4am. Shower wash had ran out. Despite booking for three adults, only two set of towels, cups and glasses. Very friendly staff though.

Other than a good location and free breakfast, the hotel was just a standard room. I felt for what I was paying it would have been a step up. Maybe it’s just an expensive area. The room was clean and had everything I needed. Bathroom tiles were cracked in the shower, so made it feel slightly run down. It was a totally average stay for me.

The location cannot be beat! Lots of restaurants, castle view, across the street from a hop on hop off bus stop. The staff were also friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

The location is good, but could be noisy depending if there are parties going on the the grass market area. There is no airconditioning, but I guess in Edinburgh that may not be needed. They do provide a fan if you need one. The bathroom is small. On the other hand, the staff was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast in the hotel is a steal and very good.

The staff was very accommodating to hold luggage, help navigate an early arrival. Very friendly anytime we had interaction beautiful room great view of the Edinburgh Castle. The location is great. Definitely recommend staying here.

Great location for sightseeing and many restaurants nearby to the hotel. Warmly welcomed by the rubber duck in our room and it’s wonderful and heart warming to get a free gift from this hotel. Unfortunately our sink and toilet flush are both not working properly and water almost overflow in the sink. We approached the reception and they quickly fixed our sink for us. It will be better if we didn’t come across this kind of problem on our first night then we would rate this hotel with five stars. Another recommendation is that no rubbish bin found in the lounge and the waiting area so we had to take our rubbishes either to outside or to our room to bin them. This can be improve by the hotel very easily for customer’s convenience. Thank you very much for the friendly staffs at the reception for directions and helping us to post our postcards (we had attached stamped on them) .
