Fab short stay

This hotel was centrally located in old town Edinburgh within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and historic sites. My favorite aspect was drinking coffee in my hotel room while enjoying a spectacular view of the castle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and the pool looked great but we spent our time enjoying the city. I can’t wait to come back to Edinburgh and when I do I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again.

Paid extra for a view and wanted upon arrival this was cost per night and not per stay (which was not made clear before). Overall the view was not visible from majority of the room except if sat in one corner of the room - windows also really filthy. Staff were a mixed bag, some so lovely and others really surly. The chap on the bar Jimmie was very sweet and rushed off his feet as seemed to be working alone. Bath really hard to climb in and out of, a person less mobile would find it difficult. Also very slippery when having a shower, even with the provided bath mat. Beds were ok. Enjoyed our stay but not sure we’d rush back particularly.

We loved our stay! Staff friendly, onsite parking, and location couldn’t have been better. The castle view from our room just topped it off. We will definitely stay here again when in Edinburgh.

Never Again

This hotel claims to be a 4-star establishment, but in reality, it feels more like a 2 or 3-star experience. The bathroom had noticeable mildew buildup and drainage issues, and there was no air conditioning in the room. Additionally, there was an unpleasant mildew-like odor. The furniture, including the chair and throw pillows, had visible stains, which impacted the overall cleanliness and comfort of the stay. Given these issues, I would not recommend this hotel.

This was a lovely hotel in a great area! ALL of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to the castle very easily and we were able to have a wonderful dinner on site after a long day of exploring.
