It was great to be in the park overnight. Lighting was minimal so you could see the stars at night. Even though the Lodge was at full capacity it did not feel crowded. It was nice to be there after the crowds left and before the park filled up.
We had a good stay at Yavapai Losge and the check in staff was amazing, going above and beyond to assist me with a booking issue. It’s in a great location (short walk to the Canyon Rim), and and central to the Canyon. I’d definitely stay here again. There is also a large general store that shares a parking lot with the lodge.
Place was fine. Clean. Seemed a little dated but also it's in the woods by the Grand Canyon, not some 5 star luxury resort in civilization.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
The main problem with the hotel for us was that we were on the ground floor and we were woken up every time our upstairs neighbors walked on their floor.
So when they were up at 3am, 6am, one night, we were woken up too. The sink in the room was about 4' off the ground and the showerhead is at about 5'. The showerhead needs upgrading as well as the bathroom. This place needs upgrades to charge what they do. They are getting away with it because they are in the park.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
We stayed on the ground floor of Building 3. At first we were a little disappointed by the carpet down the hallway, but, once in the room it was better. The room was clean with plenty of room. We had a good nights sleep. I would suggest the very low vanity which is outside the “bath door” need updating and the bath, though clean was also out dated. Parking is atrocious! I got in around 11pm and three spots far from the building were left. It was quiet even with several families staying nearby, but I did hear the footsteps of the guests above but it was not that bad. Every employee I interacted with was very nice and helpful. My dog loved it! When we woke up in the morning, female elk were standing or laying down under our window which we thought was great. I’d stay there again.
Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, location was walkable to shuttles and the Rim Trail, restaurant and pub on site was convenient. What more could you ask for? I've stayed here before and would stay here every time I am at the Grand Canyon South Rim.
Good location to store and restaurant. Room was basic, but clean. No elevator, metal stairs going up. We were in room right by staircase. Could be loud during the day, but no issues at night.
