We were very disappointed with how dirty the unit was. When we first arrived, we found dishes still in the dishwasher, particles of food stuck to the dishwasher baskets, sand all over the bottom of the shower, mold around the rims of the sink, dead bugs around the perimeter of the walls making us think our rooms wasn’t cleaned, despite the beds being made and fresh towels. What I was most disappointed by was two weeks prior to our stay, after the final payments made, we received the welcome letter which included a list of things that were wrong with the property, including “smells,” a kitchen cabinet that is broken and barely opens, and bugs. I’m confused why they just don’t fix those issues as it seems misrepresented in the initial add for the unit. I did notify the manager of the issues during our stay to which they instructed me to take it up with housekeeping, which felt unhelpful. I’ve been going to Hilton Head for years and this location is great, however, I now realize this unit is way overpriced for the cleanliness, lack of updates, and for not having an ocean view.
