Nice stay

Clean but small room, bathroom was a little dated and small but all good apart from that! The view on a basic room is of the walls and makes the room very dark but that didn’t matter to us as we were out of the room most of the time! The hotel itself is great with stunning views and a great area to swim in the sea. It’s a 20 minute walk into town so was great for that aspect too.

This hotel could use upgrades and staff training!

The hotel needs updating and staff needs training in hotel management and hospitality. I don’t recommend staying in the Annex building which is like the “maids’ quarters”. The only good thing about the room was the AC and view. Some of my clothes were stolen from my suitcase by the cleaning staff. The room was small and the bathroom was awful (see pics). The main building is much better, is nicely decorated and has beautiful areas for lounging overlooking the ocean. There is also a small gym. The hotel is a 25 min walk to the old city of Hvar.

We enjoyed our stay at Podestine. The staff were friendly. Being near the sea was brilliant. However, I'd advise sea shoes due to sea urchins nearby (our son stepped on one and needed to have them removed). The rooms were okay, but the hotel was a bit dated. But it lived up to the 4-star rating. The bedding could have been better as the duvets/sheets were too small for the beds (no overhang). The breakfast choices were fine, but the coffee machine was broken (it is worth removing that, as a few reviewers had also commented). Dinner at the restaurant was not as good as eating out - it doesn't come close to some of the options, but it is pricey. This is a solid hotel, we would stay again, but probably use the mini-bar and hotel beach bar much less, as prices were high and do not show on the receipt at the end of each day, so that can be a bit of a shock to the system. Overall, it is a good base from which to either launch out and explore Hvar, or to chill by the sea in relative peace and quiet.

Luxury a walk away from Hvar town

The Podstine Hotel is a beautiful, quiet and luxurious place for a getaway just a walk away from the heart of Hvar town. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We enjoyed live music on the terrace at night and cooled off in the swimming pool after a long day of travel. We only wish we had more time at the hotel to enjoy the lush landscaping and awesome swim area on the Adriatic. We were told the walk to town along the water was about 20 minutes but it’s more like half an hour at a leisurely pace. There is ample parking if you arrive by car.

Loved the location, a beautiful 20min coastal walk from the old town. Ocean access was perfect, we enjoyed swimming and relaxing on the loungers every day. Breakfast was also great with lots of options. Rooms very basic and bathrooms are dated but would recommend and would stay here again for the ocean access

We had an amazing stay at the Podstine in July. The hotel is beauty, tucked away on the coast just a 20 minute walk from Hvar Town. The real gem of the hotel is the private beach, sunbeds and swimming area. The hotel staff are very attentive, helpful, and lovely to chat to at breakfast, at the beach bar and at check-in. Maya was lovely to speak with and while I waited for drinks at the bar! The dive centre next door was a big bonus too, as my partner was able to dive without having to get a taxi or a walk a long distance. The breakfast was quite simple in terms of options, but was fine for us. We stayed in an “economy” room. It was quite limited in terms of space, but again, that didn’t bother us! It may just be a problem for couples travelling with lots of luggage. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel but the menu looked good. The drinks menu at the beach bar had a wide range and was reasonably priced compared to Hvar town. I would recommend the Podstine to anyone. We would definitely like to return one day! Thank you for a brilliant stay.

Considering that this was by far the most expensive hotel that I’ve stayed in, and considering it is rated 4* and we paid for a Superior room, many aspects fell short of expectations. To be fair, the room was generally excellent, with very effective air conditioning, a good shower, a huge bed, loads of storage space, and good lighting. The curtains, however, only covered 2/3 of the window, and the balcony had a view almost entirely restricted by palms. Breakfast was particularly poor with, for example, no brown bread, no bread rolls, and no croissants that weren’t pre-filled with Apricot jam. The restaurant was also very spartan, with very few tables, making it resemble a part-used function room. Table clearance was also quite slow. That said, it was possible to dine on a small terrace outside, which was nicer. Finally, the beach area had very few loungers, and even less accompanying cushions, so these were very hard to acquire. Many were also positioned on a quite precarious ledge, making them a challenge for anyone who wasn’t sure-footed. The sea was also quite deep in the bathing area, so it wasn’t possible to touch the bottom if you were a nervous swimmer. Finally, the old town was a 35 minute walk away, or €20 taxi ride. In summary, a nice hotel, with generally great rooms, but probably not worthy of its price tag and star rating

Hotel is very nicely located. Area is quiet and beach access is amazing. I loved everything about outside. Food was average and I would recommend spending your money in the city as opposed to the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Our room was terribly small and that was the only downside but thankfully we did not spend much time in it.

If you’re looking to relax and take it slow, this is the place for you! My husband and I stayed here between exploring cities to get some r&r. It was lovely to have a private beach to guests only and drinks are offered wherever you are. It’s a 20 minute walk to bustling Hvar downtown and a grocery store close by. Ubers are less easy to get to come to you as it’s so close to the harbour, however, a taxi can be called from the front desk in advance. We stayed in the annex part of the resort and the room was clean and big enough for two. Thank you for a nice stay.

This hotel is not up to standard at all , I cannot see this property surviving . They hardly have any staff , provide minimal breakfast that was the worst I have experienced. No coffee at all in rooms and the bedding does not even cover the bed . Provide a queen doona for a king bed . Towels are so small you cannot even dry yourself. There looks to be a pizza oven that is not operating in the restaurant and an empty ice cream fridge and there is no staff member working at the gym. I don’t even think the spa exists. They charge 7 Euro to bring ice and wine glasses to your room. Anyone uses the platform from other villas to swim so expect random people at the hotel . This hotel should not be the price it sells for and if I was a Travel Agent in Australia I would not sell this hotel .
