Visit Indy several times a year. The Crown Plaza is our Destination each time. In the past several years, everything has been updated. The service has always been good. All the rooms have been refurbished and remodeled. All very clean and efficient. Restaurant updated, modern, with excellent service. Highly recommend.

Staff was courteous and the place was nice. They also had option to leave luggage during the game. That was a great option. Parking situation should be listed online. Only valet parking available. Bath rooms could be a little cleaner.

The Grand Hall is typically locked and closed, which we didn't know, we asked the front desk how to get there, they let us know that it is typically locked and said they could have an engineer come open it for us, not only did he unlock and let us get a look around, he took us for a very impressive tour, we learned some history and saw some very cool sights of Old Union Station.

There are plenty of other hotels in the area that offer a far more modern and luxurious feel. The rooms here are very basic, the breakfast is not good, and during my last visit there was heavy construction around the area that made arrival and departure frustrating, even with the valet. I typically don’t leave reviews, but after multiple stays and the complete lack of customer service during this recent situation, I felt it was necessary. The only reason I returned at all was the proximity to a state game we were attending and a special offer rate that made it seem reasonable. However, between the outdated rooms, the unimpressive breakfast, the construction, and now the refusal to work with us during a weather advisory, it’s clear that there are better options nearby that value guests more. Going forward, I’ll be choosing one of the many other hotels downtown that offer better service, better amenities, and a more comfortable overall experience.

My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing, and this stay made it clear we will not be returning. A severe weather advisory made it unsafe for us to travel, yet the hotel refused to offer any flexibility whatsoever. I understand policies exist, but there are moments when safety and basic human decency should matter more than a rigid non-refundable rule. A refund, a credit, a date change, or even partial accommodation would have shown they value their guests. Instead, they chose policy over people and kept $97 rather than prioritize safety or loyalty. This is especially frustrating because we’ve stayed here before. The only real selling point has ever been proximity, not the hotel itself. During our previous stay, the breakfast was already a disappointment. It’s a very limited buffet with options that did not feel fresh, and it absolutely wasn’t something I wanted to repeat. The rooms are also extremely small. Last time, we stayed in one of the “train car” rooms, and beyond the initial novelty, it was cramped and underwhelming. Even the kids lost interest quickly. We would much rather stay downtown in a hotel with better space, updated amenities, and a skyline view. Between the lack of flexibility during a genuine safety concern, the subpar breakfast, the cramped rooms, and the overall outdated feel, there is nothing here worth returning for. This hotel has made it clear that profit matters more than people, and they have permanently lost our business.

NEVER AGAIN: We left at 12:30 a.m. because the hotel was overrun due to a youth convention. There were humans as far as the eye could see, left and right! Loud, yelling, running, banging, and talking so loudly! (For reference, this is 5 train cars long and another 5 to my left. This is the picture mister took is before this place filled!) We had over 5 different people try our door handle. There were people everywhere; common spaces were filled with hundreds of people on our block, like Black Friday-style mobs! (One mom we ran into earlier said there were over 16,000 youth attending at the convention center, which the hotel was attached to.) We packed and left. The teens and adults were shocked because they didn’t know these were rooms. The signage was horrible; beds were fulls, not 2 queens. They filled in the pool, which was supposed to be West Baden-style (I didn’t know until after I booked). The hotel restaurant food was awful! For $75, I was hoping for good food versus bowl lettuce and lukewarm beer, and that was $30 alone. Mister had a 9oz wine and burger that was $30. The construction took us 45 minutes to get into the hotel, and we paid for valet parking, $50.00, because there was nowhere else to park. Peggy at the desk was extremely kind and gracious. She authorized a full refund. The museum scavenger hunt was super cool, and the kids won ice cream for completing.
