The bedroom itself and the kitchenette was fine for one night. We did not hear much traffic noise but did hear our neighbouring units, doors closing, loud conversations. The bathroom was certainly not mold-free. Even running the exhaust in the bathroom, the mirror remained foggy for hours after a shower. The sink counter also seemed to be falling off the wall, it was tilted and not level. Beyond the bathroom, the stay was acceptable.

We always stay at the Encore when we visit family in Venice Beach. The location for us is great, although the area around the motel is a little rundown. The staff is wonderful. Beds are comfy. Parking is easy. The small kitchenette is a bonus. The place is starting to show its age and could do with some paint, small repairs, and sprucing up. But, overall, it's safe, comfortable, and a good deal.

The manager at the front desk tried to charge me a deposit for my service animal which is illegal. He said my "pet" wasn't allowed to sleep on the bed and gave me towels for the floor. I tried to get them to give me a refund and wouldn't and demanded I pay the deposit. He was screaming at me that I was a "stupid b-tch" that wouldn't get the deposit back because of my dog. Hotels.com helped by providing my account some $ so I could stay somewhere else.
