We were really disappointed with our stay at the Omni Los Angeles Downtown. While the hotel is clean and well-maintained, the location is a major letdown. Downtown LA feels deserted, and the presence of Skid Row and high-crime areas nearby made us feel unsafe walking around. The atmosphere was off, and we didn’t feel comfortable outside the hotel.
To make matters worse, the resort fees were excessive. On top of the $35 destination fee per day, the $65 parking charge felt outrageous, especially considering there was nothing special about the hotel to justify these extra costs. We also paid extra for the club room, which was equally disappointing. There were no live food counters, just some frozen bagels, cereals, and fruit. It didn’t feel like a premium experience at all.
For a downtown location, we expected a more vibrant neighborhood or at least some cool amenities, but instead, we got an uninspiring and frankly unsafe experience. We won’t be staying here again and would not recommend it to others.
