This hotel offers excellent service, well-designed spaces with a fun atmosphere, and an above-average onsite restaurant. We chose it for its proximity to Universal Studios. The hotel caters to families visiting the park and provides a convenient shuttle service. However, the hotel also hosts business events, which can create noise issues. During our stay, an event in the theater became disruptive. When I mentioned this in their post-checkout survey, the hotel responded that they "did not expect it to become loud until midnight." For a family with a young child, this was problematic. Even in the "quiet" section of the hotel, the noise kept us awake. I'd still recommend this hotel, but advise checking the event calendar before booking. If noise is a concern or you're traveling with young children, request a room away from the courtyard and pool area.

This is definitely a hidden gem! The customer service from the time we arrived to departure was hands down the best I have experienced. I travel a substantial amount, and have never been this impressed. The room was clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Well Done staff and management!

The front desk staff were not welcoming and condescending when I asked for another room because the sliding patio door was broken and off the track. Then I was switched to another room and the sink was plugged. The next morning one of the same front desk staff yelled out as I walked by in a very condescending tone and asked about the new room which was unnecessary to yell out in front of everyone.

I want to repeat our trip just to stay at the Garland again. This hotel is wonderful. Although it is close to the highway, we didn't hear any noise. The beds are super comfortable and all of the decor and fixtures are high quality (more so than typically found in hotels). One small detail that delighted us, the door to the room props open. We decided to dine at the restaurant and were blown away by the quality and delicate balance of flavors. Absolute perfection. And the staff at the restaurant had a natural rapport – we felt as though we were treated as close friends. Everything about our stay was above average and outstanding.
