Pros: Staff at all levels unfailingly attentive and courteous. Made to feel really welcome
Cons: Improve lighting in bedrooms
Location: Good location but surroundings rather grim and unattractive.
Only spent one night at this hotel, while on a two day break in Madrid. Excellent staff, but bedrooms a bit dark and tired.

Excellent Weekend in Madrid

Serene lobby, high ceilings and excellent staff made us relax instantly after an early morning flight and transfer from the airport. The hotel is situated in a brilliant location, a short stroll away from the town centre and out of the main touristic thoroughfare. At night, there are plenty of vibrant bars nearby for a nightcap. We booked a deluxe double room which was very comfortable and spacious. Although the room overlooked a construction site and not gardens (as described on the hotel website), it was not in any way noisy and the room was still filled with light from the balcony doors.

Really nice hotel close to all the special places in Madrid. The staff was very friendly, the room was super confortable, big and very clean. Great choice!

excellent accueil et service ; hôtel bien placé pour visiter la ville (on peut tout faire à pied), mais dans un quartier calme ; petit bémol sur le spa qui est minimaliste ; ne pas choisir cet hôtel pour ça.

Stay in Madrid with style

Urso Hotel & Spa is a stylish hotel in an old and beautiful former government building that was refurbished about two years ago. The location is perfect as many lovely restaurants can be found in the area. It is just a 5 min walk to Alonso Martínez metro station and reachable by taxi from Barajas airport within 15 - 30 min, depending on traffic. The reception, lobby and bar area was cozy and beautiful. The check-in was processed smoothly but the check-out took some time due to complicated guest inquiries. The rooms (standard room) are lean and noble, furnished with leather chairs and a nice and comfortable king size bed. The bathroom is pretty and features a bath tub as well as a shower. Just the light is too weak. However, avoid standard rooms on the first floor (and probably even on the 2nd). I was first given room 101 which is located exactly opposite the breakfast room door. It was quiet but a dark hole and offers a "terrible" view of an office building as well as of waste containers. Definitively a "No Go" to get such a room as a full paying guest at a pricy five star hotel. After insisting, I finally got one on the third floor which was far better. Also the gym was not state of the art (too small). To sum up: a really nice hotel but value for money was average in my view. I definitively stayed at much better five star city hotels on this planet.

Kahden aikuisen romanttinen loma
