We had high hopes for our stay at Cedar Motor Inn, especially since my boyfriend had fond memories of staying here as a kid. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. When we first walked into the room, we were hit with an overwhelming musty smell. It was so bad that we immediately tried to air it out, but there was no real ventilation. The AC unit was poorly maintained and taped up with what looked like dirty or old tape, making it unusable and even more concerning. We found hair on the bathroom floor, and strange stains on the walls that made us uncomfortable. Even after leaving for a while and coming back, the horrible smell of moisture and mildew hadn’t improved at all. What made it even more frustrating is that the room we received looked nothing like the one we had booked online. It felt like a bait-and-switch situation. We brought our concerns to the front desk, but the only response we received was a half-hearted “sorry.” No effort was made to make things right, no refund, nothing. We left feeling upset and uncomfortable. I really wanted to love this place, but sadly, we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it based on this experience

Quiet, no frills

It was exactly what we expected, and acted as a place to sleep after adventures. No frills. A/C worked on iceberg or nothing. Linens were clean, cobwebs in the room corners. Breakfast was fine, although could have been above lukewarm. Sauna/pool/hot tub were nice, lots of families. Again, it was fine, and a bit more than you'd expect at a 2 star place. Oh!! It was remarkably quiet with some deer in the yard too!
