A dated facility with a very large security camera system. Caused a little unease. But the staff were friendly we ended up having no problems. Needs a refurbished though.

Positives: Staff was welcoming and attentive; Properly was relatively quiet; Easy to access. Negatives: Small space; okay for 1, but tight for two, especially if staying more than 1 night; Bathroom needs updating; Lacking electrical outlets. This property works for men who aren’t fussy.

Listen, the staff here were really nice. But overall NG - not good. The Tulip Inn is outdated, dirty. There must be full time tenants that live here and make noise at all hours of the night. A Rough spot.

The nicest most comfortable and clean motel I’ve stayed at in years. The room was so clean and smelled so nice. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Will stay there again next year when I visit Mount Vernon again.

Pros:the front desk folks were great. Room was as clean as you could make a run down hotel room. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast is great and generous bottled water was available. Cons: drug deals going on in the parking lot (the front desk folks had called the cops and run them off, but does not instill a feeling of safety). Sketchy folks lingering in the smoking area.

Meh

Front desk was friendly, quick and accommodating. Room was old, bed was worn out and sunken in the middle, sheets were clean, tub had stains, things had been replaced in bathroom over the years and paint hasn’t been touched up. Light fixture over sink was dead. Lots of road/train noise. Convenient location. Would have sufficed for a cheap room and quick stay if it hadn’t been for the bed.

I could live with the funky smell, bad mattress and pillows, and general cheap-motel vibe. But the sink drain didn't work... how can you clean a sink and not notice that the water doesn't drain????
