Was definitely like a low budget hotel. A/C not cooling properly to feel comfortable in the room. Ceiling had chipping and peeling paint. Property definitely needs updated and website does not reflect the true state of the hotel

Great hotel

The hotel is conveniently located in the French Quarter to lots of restaurants without the madness of Bourbon Street. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating, especially Michael and Jeffrey. I would definitely stay here again.

The front desk staffer was very understanding when I ask for new sheets to replace the original sheets. (Pictures are below.) I traveled to New Orleans, to sign documents and return my mother's body back home. She passed this previous week on vacation in New Orleans. All of my available funds were tied to preparing her body for transport; so when I got in my hotel bed to finally get some rest after driving from Tennessee, I couldn't afford to just pay for another hotel room. I over looked the bugs, the dirty countertop, and bugs because I was wet from the rain, traffic, and it was too close to midnight to even look for another lodging option. After getting in bed, exhausted, I began to run my feet together and they were greeted by a used female-pad in between the sheets. It took a minute to settle my stomach, but after putting my clothes back on, I asked the first desk clerk for fresh sheets and gloves to change them myself. He mentioned making a note and the GM would be contacting me. I have not heard from the general manager yet, but I will be standing by for the call. This was definitely the worse week of my life, from the passing of my mom, the traffic, to my lodging experience. I love New Orleans, and I've been a few times in past but it's never been this horrific.

When I went to bed after diving for hours, my bare-FEET found this used female-pad in the sheets.
Some roaches and bugs were dead, some were alive.

Great if you want to stay walking distance from bourbon street and local attractions… room was clean.. had an iron but no ironing board.. no refrigerator and/or microwave…neighbors screamed because there was a lizard in their room.. I had a small bug in my bathroom.. only one ice machine was working and it was on the second floor, only reason I knew that was because I went to the desk and the man working was headed to get ice too. Tub would not drain but it was fixed by the time I made it back to my room.. any complaints or issues I had were solved.

I chose this hotel after staying in another small, historic FQ hotel last year. I ended up being somewhat disappointed in the lack of upkeep & cleanliness of the Dauphine. Pros: The staff were very nice & helpful anytime we needed anything (towels, extra shampoo & hand soap). The pool looked very clean, although we didn’t have a chance to use it. Beds were made & towels replaced daily. Cons: Like most places in humid climates, there was a slight smell to the room. The carpet throughout the halls & in the room is very worn and disgustingly stained & dirty. I didn’t see or hear a vacuum over 3 days. The headboards are fabric, and are significantly stained as well. The chair to the desk was stained & torn. A room survey card completed in 2024 was still on the desk. Mini shampoo & bodywash bottles were provided, but we had to ask for hand soap. The bar soap wrappers from the last guests were left in the shower. We never got enough towels (3 of us) & what we got varied (first day: 2 towels + 4 washcloths, 2nd day: 2 towels, washcloths, hand towels + bath mat, 3rd day: 2 towels + 2 washcloths). I wore my flip flops everywhere, including in the shower, and only covered with a sheet (pulling the blanket & top sheet off because I doubt they’re laundered after each guest). The lobby didn’t offer water or anything. Overall, I would not stay here again due to the condition of the rooms & the location. I’d recommend a place on Royal Street and beyond.

We were disappointed that the water was shut off for two hours with such short notice due to maintenance. The unexpected full-day pool closure—without explanation or compensation—was also frustrating, especially considering the limited amenities. That said, the cleaning staff did an excellent job throughout our stay.
