Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
The Good: friendly staff, great location, good restaurants in the hotel, comfy bed and pillows, and the best door man: Bobby! The Not So Good: my daughter and granddaughter had to switch rooms twice during our stay: her first switch was because the bathroom plumbing was off-gassing a putrid smell into the room and after staying there for one night the smell was unbearable. The next evening she had to switch rooms again because there was incredibly loud Jack-hammering outside right under her window at 7 PM and the front desk wouldn’t tell us if that work was going to stop any time soon which was a deal breaker as our granddaughter wasn’t feeling well and needed to sleep. I couldn’t get anyone at the front desk on the phone, so I had to go to the front desk in person to request yet another room change. They did change her room and the new room was on the 17th floor and very quiet and comfortable. So just be aware that some rooms seemed to be in disrepair while other rooms are just fine. I appreciate that the front desk helped switch her rooms but was frustrated that I couldn’t resolve it by calling the front desk. That being said, I’d totally recommend the Hotel Edison but be sure to make your requests known when you book. It’s super convenient to Broadway theatres and Times Square.
