This is a Charming Older Hotel right next to Rockefeller Center. A little bit of History, this is the Hotel that was featured in the movie "The Graduate" starring Dustin Hoffman and Ann Bancroft.
Now, the first night was pleasant the front staff was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were spacious, the beds were not so good, the mattresses were too soft and the pillows were also too soft. The air conditioner was also very noisy. But, when I requested a wine opener to open my bottle of wine, although there wasn't one in the room, the front desk attendant was kind enough to bring up his own wine opener to our room to allow me to open my bottle of wine. NICE!
The second night, when my wife and I came back from our dinner, we noticed that we hadn't been provided with our Complementary two bottles of water. We had already put our pajamas on and were settling down for the evening. I called the Front Desk to request that they send up our two Complementary bottles of water. However, rather than being accommodating as the Front Desk Attendant was on our first night, Vanessa, The Night Manager on Duty was telling me that it was their BS policy that they could not deliver the water to our room but if we really wanted the water I would have to go down to the Front Desk and pick it up. This was not the Customer Service I am accustomed to and I explained to Vanessa that I was already in my pajamas, I didn't want to go down in my pajamas to pick up the two bottles of water. Poor!
