The property entrance and the room were not in great shape. Definitely needs to be updated. Cleanliness was a 7/10. The lobby, elevator, hallway to the room and room itself weren"t clean. Good location in times square, but have stayed at comparably priced and even lower priced properties in the area that were much more comfortable and clean. The doors, walls and surfaces in our room were filthy. I went and bought lysol wioes to clean everything. Front desk staff were very friendly but lacked knowledge - we were charged a different price for the same drinks every day at the bar. When we quedtioned this with the front desk they had difficulty understanding and kept saying that there was tax on the drinks, which had nothing to do with the pre-tax fluctuation in thr price of the drinks on any given day of our stay. There was no offered resolution, so we just gave up and went elsewhere for drinks. The bar staff were abrupt and rude. They had no interest in lwtting us know what the drink specials were. We were told that the information jad to be looked up, but there was no offer to find out for us. We had to go up to the bar to be served and bring our own drinks to the table. This was my 14th trip to NYC. I would discourage people from staying here. The standards at thus property are not the same as other W hotels that I've been to.
