For the fairly cheap price the value is pretty good. Food was really good for the most part. Most of the complaints that we read about online we did not personally encounter. The staff were friendly. Everything is more than acceptable especially for the price point.
Most of the tourists there are American and majority are very obnoxious and entitled and ignorant. However, that is the same anywhere you go.
The biggest con I would say is the hotel does not enforce its own policy and procedure’s regarding the beach chairs and umbrellas. Many people leave their towels early morning before the allowed time and sometimes never come and use them. The hotel should do more to enforce these rules and remove the towels and privileges of guests that do this as the rules state. The beach is public but the chairs and palapas are not.
I personally will fend for myself and remove a towel if I seen that person has not been there for over two hours. Most people wouldn’t do this so and shouldn’t have to. The hotel should really strengthen and follow their policies in that regard.
Overall really good for the price. We stayed at many riu’s in various different countries. You generally get the same consistency.
