This hotel far exceeded our expectations. Free Parking lot in the rear of the hotel for easy access was a bonus. It is an easy, walkable distance from shopping, restaurants and the music hall. The room was cute, with lots of personality. Wonderful shower and awesome bathroom toiletries. Amazing friendly staff and the best continental breakfast we have ever had. Highly Recommend

We had such a great stay at the Hotel Portsmouth! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and although the building was old and you could hear some creaks and pipes ticking, it was not unpleasant. The old building was actually the most charming part. The amenities were excellent and everything was in walking distance. Will definitely stay there again.

Fantastic hotel

We absolutely loved this hotel. It is a Lark Hotel and we stayed at a similar one in Saratoga Springs. The staff, Carma, was excellent and the hotel was beautiful, with great atmosphere. It was walking distance to the downtown Portsmouth area and had ample parking. The breakfast was also delicious, all in all, a great experience.

Property was nice and staff very friendly - however they put a family with kids on the top floor above us which is a big NO! As a result with all the banging around right above till late and then starting up at 5:00AM there was not much sleeping time. Ruined our time there sadly.

This property felt like you entered "home". Very relaxing and comfortable seating in common areas. Nice fireplaced library room was a great place to sit after a day exploring Portsmouth. Close walking distance to everything.
