The entrance to the property and inside the property was good. The neighborhood just outside the properties main entrance was very dirty. The Ambar site has a front desk supervisor that needs to be reminded of the value of quality customer service. It would be a huge value add if the resort(s) had more people who understood and could speak English.

We had a good time but it was definitely not what we expected. We did not get our VIP at all including the bottle of champaigne. We got engaged on this trip and thr hotel did nothing for that either. Not sure if i would stay at this chain again.

This was a wonderful resort in appearance. It is not exactly all inclusive. The better drinks you have to pay for and the more fun activities you get charged for. The first day the staff is very friendly. The second day they are trying to sell you packages. And if you turn them down they are harder to get help. Room service was limited. The free activities we never did find, but we still enjoyed the beach. All in all it was a good trip.

Overall it’s a good bang for your buck, a la carta restaurants are booked way ahead of time, alcoholic drinks are watered down and even the sealed beers don’t seem like they have much alcohol. Buffet has limited options. Not much to do outside the hotel. Recommend Cancun instead.

I did a 3 night stay for my 30th birthday with some friends and I genuinely had a blast. The staff were beyond friendly and accommodating, the pool and beach areas were clean and the atmosphere was sooooooo relaxing. We did the swim up room and it was worth the splurge. I think next time we’re going to stay for longer and explore more. The property was absolutely massive and I know we missed stuff.

I have been to other resorts in the same area and sadly I have to admit that I was disappointed with Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. At the check in I was not offered any room upgrade, discounts for spa or free bottle of spirit (as per my purchased package perks indicated on the reservation confirmation). The first room I was given 68307 was a total disaster: the ceiling vent was leaking causing a flood in the entrance area ( making my shoes wet) , light around the headboard was not working, one of the room lights was flashing when turned on, the adjustable tv mount was broken, could not use the ceiling fan because was making squeaking noise, and the worst of all was the smell in the room - obvious mold issue! After the room was flooded at 10pm second day I was offered another room. Much much better! No smell , no water leak. Big thank you to the lady who assisted us with moving to the another room. No apology from management whatsoever! One of us also slipped on the wet stairs causing bruises all over the body, but when we mentioned it to the personel they did not seem to be concerned or did not understand. I also disliked that people were getting up at 4 am to reserve chairs at the beach, and didn’t show up till noon or later!!!! It should not be allowed! We enjoyed the weather and landscape but most likely we will not return to this property!
