We loved the location,it is loud if youbare facing the square, but that is to be expected... The only complaint I have,has to be the breakfast.. its just very simple for the price,never ever changes, some type of egg and small sausages,and the usual.. some how there is always either not coffee, no plates or somenthing.... also,I got to see an employee arriving and just with her bare hand grabbed afew pieces of bread,that was gross...other than that,the location is great and front desk very helpful

This is our “go to” place to stay in Reykjavik. We were allowed early check in for a small fee. Our TV was not working but a person from reception came up promptly and was able to fix the problem. Room was a bit of a hike but was very comfortable. And of course the breakfast buffet can’t be beat.

The first 2 nights was a little struggle. We were placed on the first floor, as soon as you enter the room you can smell there was sewer problem, it was tolerable, the second night, I couldn't stand it, so I complained, we were moved to the fourth floor and it was ok after that.

Check in was pretty quick but receptionists overall weren’t super friendly. Best thing about this place is the location. Close to bus stops, restaurants, etc. Huge corner room but alarm bells went off several times during the night. Then got woken up super early by banging noises. Turned out they were doing renovations. Overall, not a great stay.

Hotel admin was awful. Two of our party were locked out of their room because they hadn't booked in? Clearly wrong as they were issued with room cards! A tour booked through the hotel was cancelled but we only found out while waiting for the bus to take us there. Then getting a refund was time-consuming. Staff were generally unhelpful. Tried to charge us full rate for drinks during happy hour. Their bus timings for transport to the airport were incorrect.

Great property centrally located with comfortable accommodations. Only real negative is the walls are fairly thin. But not so much you can hear every conversation just hear murmurs. That said, the breakfast is great!! The staff were very helpful and friendly, it’s located a short walk from one of the bus pickup zones for both local buses and tour/excursion/airport pickups (its stop #3 if you’re interested). One funny thing, queen beds are either going to be two twins smooshed together or a queen. Either way (ended up in two different rooms because of a missed flight) you’ll have two twin sized comforters. Just a thing to note. A difference Americans will notice, smaller bathrooms. Functional and we’re fine just smaller than you get in the States. The bar has local beers and a good alcohol selection. Overall a great place to stay and would recommend if you’re looking for a space in the city center area.

On our first 2 nights we were pit on the first floor, it smells like sewer but it's tolerable since we were only there for few hours then we went out. On the third night , we came back from our tour and as soon as I open the door, the terrible smell hit me in my chest that I couldn't breath and my chest hurt from the obnoxious smell so I complained, then they move us to the fourth floor for another 2 nights

The location of this hotel could not be better, as it is right in the center of the downtown area. There were restaurants and shops just steps away, and you can walk to almost all of the major attractions. The concierge was consistently helpful in making suggestions and arranging bookings. Highly recommend!
