The Hotel wasn’t bad at all, I think communication needs to be worked on. I would have made an error on my reservation, reached out to them, however didn’t get a respond until the day before I was leaving, which mean I would have already got there and figure it out. I also paid $87R a night to add the second person to my room, Paid the total up on arrival when I was checking out I was asked to pay it again, I had to explain to the person that that was already paid, so I’m not sure what happen there (Communication again), but I didn’t pay that. I asked for an iron because I was going on a tour and was running late, the gentleman at the front desk said the iron was coming up, A lady showed up at the door however and asked me for the cloths, I asked her for the iron, she said she’ll take care of it, I paid $50R for that service, wasn’t happy about that but I’m going to just leave it as a misunderstanding with communication… The staff seem friendly and helpful, the few that I came in contact with. So apart from the misunderstanding it wasn’t a bad place to stay. Now that I know what to respect I will stay there again. Felt safe and it was well kept, clean… I would say just make sure you understand, what’s been offered and communication is clear and you’ll be good.

This hotel is conveniently located by Copacabana beach, a very touristy area. Lots of restaurants nearby. Very walkable. Room was small. The top floor had awesome view of everything. Breakfast was good.

Right on the Copacabana, 30 paces and your in the tide. Wonderful location, turn about and walk five minutes and your in the main shopping area for food, restaurants , a nd many things more.

The property is at the beach front. It is walkable. Breakfast is excellent a lot of choices and overall the hotel is clean. The staff members are all nice and helpful. The only thing is that theirs no coffee maker/ coffee, electric kettle and microwave in the room. The room is nice and cool. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It’s 4 star for us.

This was by far the worst and most expensive hotel of our trip. During check in we were given a key into an occupied room startling and upsetting the people sleeping there. An extremely embarrassing situation. The staff would do as little as possible for you, advising you how difficult things are unless you buy your packages from them, room was small and old. Shower had the door installed swinging to the inside of the very tiny shower and into to shower controls making it impossible to adjust temperature without getting you cold or hot wet because you had to position yourself in front of the shower. Ac unit was weak and faulty. Elevators stopped working. Food was left on the floor outside the rooms for 2 days and staff would just leave it there until we reported it. In summary, it was a complete mess and bad experience. All other hotels we stayed even one day ne block from the Astoria was Les expensive and FAR superior. I recommend AVOID At ALL COST.

Great property. Great value. Location directly on the beach was perfect. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff 24/7 was superb. I would recommend this highly and we'll stay again.
