We are repeat customers of the Happy Salmon books motel. It’s locally owned very friendly. To be real it’s an older hotel that’s been refurbished, but it’s clean, comfortable and consistent. It’s become a favourite stop over in Salmon arm on our way west.

Biggest surprise was it's not actually in Salmon Arm, but rather in Canoe. Not much for local amenities, one small pub, that's it; or backtrack 15 minutes to get back into Salmon Arm, where there's lots of restaurants etc.

We had a wonderful stay at Happy Salmon Motel. It was perfect for us after a long drive. The room was so comfortable and just what we needed. I can hardly wait to come back. When we asked for a good place to eat, our hostess suggested walking across the highway and down the hill. We did just that, found a great restaurant, then walked to the pier and stopped for ice cream at the corner store. 10/10

The bed was nice. It is located right on the highway. Traffic was loud all night. The room doesn't get enough fresh air and smelled old, trapped in and od old cigarette smoke.

Wonderful staff! Rooms were clean, motel was easy to locate; perfect for our trip. Just a little drive into Salmon Arm for all amenities. A little noisy being right off Hwy 1; but that was completely expected. Would definitely stay here again.

The reception was very friendly, and the room was cleaned, obvously by someone who really cared. The bed was comfortable. It's a nice place to spend a night but ... The room is very small and very poorly lighted. It would nice, for example, to have even a bit of light above the table so that you could do some work at it. It would also be nice to have a bit more room between the bed and the wall in case you have to get up in the night. And yet, I would stay here again if all we need is bed for a night. The friendly smile at the front desk makes up for a lot.

Room was very clean, and the beds were more actually more comfortable than most hotels I’ve stayed in. I was a bit worried about some negative reviews saying that guests were charged a $100 deposit which was never returned for smoking in the rooms, despite claiming that they don’t smoke. There are ominous signs at the front desk saying that they have detectors in the room (which I couldn’t find but maybe didn’t look hard enough), but I don’t smoke and my deposit was returned after a few days. The rooms have a microwave, coffee maker and full fridge (which was unplugged but easily plugged back in), and the cupboards are zip tied shut. Not the fanciest rooms by any means but good for an overnight stay, and the price is right. Highway noise could be a concern for some. I wear earplugs at night so slept soundly. Motel is a bit out of town, but again, the price reflects this minor inconvenience. Would go back and recommend for anyone passing through needing a good night’s rest.
