I love the Santa Maria Inn. In addition to being a really nice elegant hotel, the following are really high points for the area: convenient to tons of dining options, their own restaurant and just ordering at the bar is a great option; staff are very good ambassadors of a fine tradition; the rooms are spectacular. And Santa Maria is central to so much on the Central coast

Disappointed

I’ve stayed here multiple times but never on the North side of the building- it’s pretty ran down.. the beds are very worn and uncomfortable, the room had a very odd smell, the bathroom floor was dirty and the fridge was very loud the entire night.. definitely needs a upgrade on the north side of the building.. I don’t believe I have ever paid so much for this type of room..The other side of the building however has always been very comfortable so unless you are booking for that side specifically I would not recommend.

That queen bed was the smallest queen bed for 2 people and a fur baby to share ever which made the stay a little cramped
