Very very good . . . but - Honesty is the best policy - the staff were so friendly and gracious (Jimmy) that I hate to say anything negative but - the lobby had an unpleasant odor. Smelled like urine. That smell was also present at the restaurant. No problem on our fifth floor room. Great parking. Very spacious room. Nice shower. Comfortable beds. Nice tv. Everything was great except for the unpleasant odor. However everything else was so good that I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to friends!

Great value and space in the room for the price. The property itself needs an upgrade but overall is still a great option in the area. The pool area was particularly clean and enjoyable as well.

To start off with, we found the cable connected with scotch tape to the front of the tv later in the night, we were skeptical of it being a camera. Front desk said it was just a tv remote sensor but tv switched channels with it disconnected. Whether or not it’s camera, it looks unprofessional and is uncomfortable. Was hoping to just relax. Quote from other review was spot on with, “building can be historical but the dust doesn’t have to be.” Felt dirtier leaving than I was when I got there. Odd stains and dust piles everywhere. Bed was comfortable eventually slept because of traveling all day. Architecture has good old time vibes, wish it was taken care of. Maybe understaffed or something. Good luck if you stay.

As I stepped into the hotel, I was immediately greeted by a thick cloud of cigarette smoke that enveloped me like an unwelcome embrace. For those who aren't particularly fond of the acrid scent of tobacco lingering in the air, this hotel is best avoided. Upon checking in, the staff member at the front desk appeared disinterested and disengaged, reflecting a lack of enthusiasm that made me sympathetic to their situation. The hotel itself had an exterior that looked somewhat acceptable, giving the impression that it was well-maintained at first glance. However, as I made my way to the elevator, the walls revealed signs of mild vandalism—marks and scratches that hinted at neglect. Entering my room was an experience tinged with disappointment; the curtains were not just slightly stained but appeared to have seen better days, casting a shadow over the overall ambiance. To add to the frustration, when I stepped out and returned later, I discovered that the card key had failed to unlock the door, leaving me stranded outside. I was forced to approach the same unenthusiastic staff member again for assistance. It seemed the key card system had its own issues, as the door lock struggled to cooperate, often leading to moments of irritation. All in all, my stay was far from satisfactory. Despite the hotel having received high reviews, I can't help but feel it would be wiser to seek alternatives in the future. Ultimately, the choice is yours—though I wouldn’t recommend risking a stay.

A good find

It was a comfortable stay in convenient downtown location. Not too far off the 101. Built in 1917, it shows a historical grace but some aging.
