Check in was very quick. Rooms were very clean and a nice size for three people. Parking is very limited, must be arranged in advance. The bathroom could use updating but was clean. There were not enough towels for 3 people in the room.

Red flags everywhere. Very poorly kept property, room had musty odour, multiple broken or damaged things, and mystery stains. The last straw was the pubic hair on the toilet. I checked out within minutes of entering and a week later I’m still chasing for a refund. I booked months in advance and it was not cheap. When I trying to find new accommodation I saw the price was half of what I paid and it was opening week for the festival so they should have been at capacity but with the state of the hotel I can see why it was deserted. Avoid this place at all costs.

We had issues during our stay and in addition there was a problem with the rate we were charged. We were charged $1892 for 5 nights through Expedia. I happened to browse through the hotels website and saw that our room (the Windsor Suite) daily rate was around $215 but we paid $322 through your site. The hotel staff agreed it did not match their figures but said we had to contact you. I see by your notation above you have us there on May 24 but we were not booked in until May 25. Perhaps the discrepancy is because we were charged for an extra night? Normally Expedia rates are lower than the hotels but ours were much higher and even a mystery to the hotel staff. I hope you will correct this discrepancy- it certainly seems highly irregular. Secondly,the issues mainly concerned housekeeping services. Housekeeping came late most days and were inexperienced. They seemed to need our direction. One day we had no housekeeping service at all. Signage for the coffee machine with directions would be very helpful as it was unpredictable in how it worked. Signage about changing towels, etc. would also have been helpful. Probably housekeeping staff numbers were inadequate. There seemed to be one person only working from 9 to 4. We gave feedback to the hotel management about our housekeeping issues and their response is it will improve. The individual staff were pleasant and tried to respond. We paid an exorbitant rate for a nice room but the amenities were lacking. Gail Schnabl

It was a really good stay. Clean, comfortable bed, great shower, and coffee pods were nice to have in the morning. Close to everything. Only one thing that wasn’t great was the internet service. It affected the tv as well as our phones. I ended up using data. The front desk agreed that the service wasn’t the best but it’s temporary due to renovations interfering with wifi. So all in all a lovely time. I’d stay again.

We had an excellent stay at the Windsor Hotel. The room was very clean, quiet, with a safe surrounding area. The "online" checkin worked very well. The only drawback was that the internet did not properly, and consequently the TV did not function. However, this was corrected in due course by the very friendly duty manager. if you need a place to "crash", then the Windsor is your place. BTW, the hotel is going through major renovations, which is sprucing it up even more.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room (King Classic Room) was as seen in the photos. The room was very clean & comfortable. It is perfectly located in the center of downtown Stratford surrounded by plenty of dining options & shopping. The parking is located beside the hotel. We would return here.

Old bones given new life

This us a very old property in a very lovely town. The new management has done an admirable job of dressing it up, but the bones are still "old". The staff are all very friendly and try very hard to please.
