We will be looking to raise a complaint about the hotel stay. The room on arrival smelt so badly of stale smoke. It was too late for us to speak to reception and change rooms as we have children who weee tired and wanted to sleep.
There were cigarette butts in the window frame and ash all along the window as well.
Will be looking for a refund for this stay as our clothes for our holiday then all smelt
And we have no way of washing them
Price hiked for Race days. Additional charge for room service for tray to room. Couldn't turn heating up. Very limited tv channels. Not enough towels and couldn"t dry towels as no heating on. Had to hold down on button on hairdryer like a drill. Restaurant overpriced. Checked out a say early bit said breakfast was non refundable. A long walk to racecourse.
Outside in some parts was very mucky. Parts off dining area could have done with some flowers, look overgrown with weeds
Also in some parts facia border could do with some painting
Despite late checkin at 9pm - available room was very smelly - smelled of cigarettes! Not clean at all. Couldnt even get in.
Alternative room was also very dirty, ++ cobwebs, dirty carpets
Very friendly staff. As close to the racecourse as it’s possible to get. Got a great nights sleep. However was relatively expensive so perhaps there was an event that pushed the price up. But I usually expect more (or London) for the price.
I have stayed there before, lovely room, breakfast plenty of choices and I would recommend it. Love the smell of the shampoo/body wash (wish I had one for home). Would stay there again in the future.
Greated very nicely room was fine could now start to upgrade paintwork on bathroom door not good water overfkow from showerr baseplate not been high enough stand on towel wet through cabinnet doors under television not good pillow rock hard but service and breakfast first class I was in room 103 and the noise from the lifts later at night and first thing in the morning was not very good but ocerall all ok
