4/5 – Pleasant Stay with Exceptional Service and a Shower You Won’t Forget
We stayed at Sandia Inn in Albuquerque during our road trip and were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, clean, and ready for us even though we checked in late — around 12:30 AM. The young woman at the front desk was prompt, polite, and incredibly helpful. Despite the late hour, she took the time to recommend several family-friendly activities nearby and made us feel welcome right away.
We booked the suite with one king and one queen bed, which turned out to be perfect for our family of five. Our two-year-old shared the king bed with us, while our older kids (ages 10 and 4) took the queen. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably and move around without feeling cramped.
Now, as a licensed plumber, I have to mention one thing that stood out — the water pressure in the shower. I’ve seen a lot of plumbing setups in my career, and this one takes the cake. The pressure was extremely high — easily the strongest I’ve ever experienced in any hotel. While some might appreciate that level of force, it was bordering on uncomfortable. I’d strongly recommend that the property have a plumber inspect the system to ensure the pressure isn’t exceeding safe limits, both for guest comfort and to prevent potential damage to the plumbing lines.
Overall, Sandia Inn provided a comfortable, clean, and family-friendly stay at a fair price. With a little adjustment to the water pressure, it would
