I am truly baffled at how this hotel has an average rating of 8.2/Very Good. The pictures are definitely deceiving. Rather than looking retro, it looks rundown. Our linens were literally threadbare - holes in the blankets and sheets. The bathrooms have exposed wiring and missing drain grates, and the smoke detectors are half hanging off. Additionally, there’s major design flaws. The bed frames are metal, and if you accidentally hit them with your feet, they clang loudly. The showers are walk in, but the ledges aren’t tall enough and/or the curtains aren’t long enough, so every shower floods the bathroom. It’s a good thing we were only staying one night mid-road trip, because I don’t know that we could’ve put up with it otherwise.

The blow dryer was broken. I had to come down to the front office for anything I needed although I got constant text messages from my phone from Old Town ABQ. There was a long term guest with Maryland plates transacting a drug deal in the front parking lot. When I went to the continental breakfast there was an elderly man putting everything away and giving me a hard mean stare. There was not even any coffee! The in-room coffee machine was so hard water stained it did not look safe to drink from. The television remote is NOT cleaned with each guest, it was so greasy feeling. Finally the bed was just a metal spring with a padded cushion for a mattress.

We booked a room through Hotels.com for our stay during the balloon festival. We booked a "suite". When we arrived, the hotel looked NOTHING like the photos. We got our key (a blank white card, no markings whatsoever) and opened the door to our room to find a standard single room with two beds, no living area, absolutely NOT a suite, in disrepair, and not at all looking like the photos listed online. We immediately went to the front desk to address the falsely advertised booking, and were told "that's what we call a suite, its just a bigger room" - no, "suite" has an actual definition, and this is not it. We then contacted Hotels.com, who also contacted the front desk and were told they would not give any refund whatsoever. I contacted Wyndham, and have not heard back. The room was so gross, we only stayed one out of our two nights. I can't believe I paid over $500 for two nights at this place and was absolutely scammed by their fake photos and making up their own definitions of established words.

Air was very loud. Outside looks really nice but construction and cleaning was poor in the room. No fan in the bathroom and then steam trigged the fire alarm. Hole in the ceiling. They charged my card when I checked in and then charged it again. Took over a week to reverse the charges as they had gone through. A hold is never usually charged. Only time I've ever took a video of my room before checking out.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights, we're from New Mexico. Parking and the room itself was totally fine. They DO NOT MENTION on their website or on Expedia that there is a $100 surprise cash/card deposit. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THAT. They will charge it AFTER they charge your card for your stay. Super last minute. Their water (sink and shower) is incredibly oxygenated with H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) and is usually not harmful to drink/use but too much can be. Our water came out milk-white, we didn't even want to drink it. I have had my hair dyed for a long time, it has never run or dyed anything else (bed sheets, pillowcases, towels, etc.) With their water, the dye came out and dyed all of the above that I used - including my neck. (This NEVER happens). I called my lawyer/uncle just to make sure it would be okay to talk to them about it, or to just move on, and he gave the all clear to explain the situation. The managing lady was incredibly rude to us about 1. asking my lawyer for advice, and 2. asking for my deposit back as I was unaware of their water. She yelled at my partner and I for about 10 minutes in the front lobby, just repeating herself about how we shouldn't have called our lawyer, accused us of making assumptions about them, accused us of calling the cops, and said we were being aggressive and rude to her over the phone. (My husband recorded the entire conversation - on the phone and in person, and took photos of the water). I recommend a more friendly place

Loved the nostalgic Route 66 charm and great value! The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and the room was very clean. The only downsides were a disorganized breakfast setup and some worn common areas like the pool. With a little extra care and upkeep, this could easily be a 5-star stay!

This hotel is a bit shabby. The bathroom door was so swollen. I didn’t close. Breakfast was disappointing. However the staff was very friendly. And we were in Albuquerque during the balloon festival so finding lodging was quite difficult.

4/5 – Pleasant Stay with Exceptional Service and a Shower You Won’t Forget We stayed at Sandia Inn in Albuquerque during our road trip and were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, clean, and ready for us even though we checked in late — around 12:30 AM. The young woman at the front desk was prompt, polite, and incredibly helpful. Despite the late hour, she took the time to recommend several family-friendly activities nearby and made us feel welcome right away. We booked the suite with one king and one queen bed, which turned out to be perfect for our family of five. Our two-year-old shared the king bed with us, while our older kids (ages 10 and 4) took the queen. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably and move around without feeling cramped. Now, as a licensed plumber, I have to mention one thing that stood out — the water pressure in the shower. I’ve seen a lot of plumbing setups in my career, and this one takes the cake. The pressure was extremely high — easily the strongest I’ve ever experienced in any hotel. While some might appreciate that level of force, it was bordering on uncomfortable. I’d strongly recommend that the property have a plumber inspect the system to ensure the pressure isn’t exceeding safe limits, both for guest comfort and to prevent potential damage to the plumbing lines. Needs a Bit of Work.

Nice overall but has some issues. The hot/cold on the sink was reversed and the shower curtain was tub-length even though it was a step in shower so water on the floor. Breakfast was meager. Next to a fairly busy street, so some street noise. The owner/manager was super friendly and accommodating.
