Checked in and had to pay additional 45 euro fee due to internal issue with expedia. Sheets smell like cigarettes. Second evening door key didnt work. Waitied at front desk while hotel staff were in a heated argument for 5 minutes. Room on second floor, could hear them yelling till 11:30pm. Checked out a day early to go elsewhere. Definitely avoid.

Friendly staff, high standards of cleanliness of room and all areas of hotel. Decor and furniture etc all seem quite new. AC easy to control and very effective. Nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. My balcony looked out onto a small inner courtyard, so no nice view, but on the other hand this meant it was quiet and I could sleep with the window open.

If you go further inside about 800m from the hotel, lots of homeless people and druggies I found quite disturbing not knowing the city that well as a tourist.. Breakfast time started at 0815 which was too late for me to join when I have tours booked for around 0730. Otherwise train station is only 3 min away. Lots of places to eat around. Easy to catch taxi.

In general it was a good experience to be in tgis hotel. The most important fact is that it is clean. Room was not small. The location is near the metro station and you have access to other places. Some good restos around. The breakfast was ok, not many varieties though. Not overcrowded hotel. The staffs were friendly. The owner was always there and it was easy to hear his loud voice. They did not answer my messages that i sent them when i first booked, but out needs were met.

We picked Meni based on ratings and other reviews and it was indeed modern, clean, had very comfortable beds, pleasant staff and was conveniently located 2 mins walk from the metro. However, it’s position on a main square and transport hub for buses meant that it was so noisy we hardly slept. The area was also pretty rough and having been pick pocketed within 12 hours of arrival, we would warn other travellers to be careful. We are experienced travellers in many cities around the world but have never felt as unsafe as we did in this part of Athens.

The buffet breakfast was skimpy. Nothing was replenished, the coffee was extremely weak and undrinkable. If you didnt get to the buffet early, there was very little left to eat. The concierge staff were genuinely nice and very helpful, but they couldn't fix the breakfast.
