We are pet friendly to friendly pets. Dogs live on the adjacent property and may occasionally roam past the house.
Watch deer, elk, and moose in the meadow before the cabin and feed the friendly birds by hand. Enjoy the sunsets and mountain views from your 70-foot deck across the front of the cabin. Sit in front of your wood-burning fireplace or enjoy the stars from your private cabin in the woods at night.
We have a supplemental oxygen system that's available in each bedroom. It's incredibly helpful with altitude adjustment. It can run every night (7 pm-7 am), so you sleep at the equivalent of ~5,000 feet. You may opt to use the oxygen system for $25/night/room (to cover electric expenses). It's controlled remotely. Please confirm it's available when booking if you intend to use it.
Lucky Us Cabin is an excellent place for winter and summer fun. There is plenty of room to explore this beautiful property and the adjoining Whitewater National Forest. Hike to the nearby Ghost Town and the ancient Spanish Markers left by early Spanish Miners. Pan for gold in the nearby streams, have a picnic or tell stories while sitting around your wood-burning fireplace at night.
