Great hotel showing some wear & tear.

I've stayed here on & off over the past few years when visiting my son. The lobby, bar and restaurant, as well as meeting facilities are well designed and far above average for this hotel class. The room & bathrooms are well appointed. I love having a microwave & refrigerator in the room! The soaps, full size shampoo & body wash dispensers are a really nice addition to the bathroom. The towels are always fresh and plentiful. Front desk staff are always friendly & efficient. BEST part is the freezing COLD AC! Many hotels limit how low you can set the AC. This hotel does not - so I can crank the AC down to 65°F and be completely happy! HOWEVER, on my most recent visit, I could see that wear & tear has taken a toll. The carpet in my room was worn. Baseboards were very dusty, drawers were sticking, and some of the buttons on the tv remote were not working. But the worst part was in the bathroom. There appeared to be a leak that occurred in the ceiling and wall by the bathroom door. The thick, grass-cloth wallpaper had pulled away from the wall at the seams and around the top of the door. Underneath the paper was a black goo. It could have been adhesive, or it could have been black mold. It did not look good. There was NOT a moldy smell. I didn't change rooms because it was late and I was only planning to be there one night. Room was #202 if management is reading this. I still highly recommend this hotel for its location, design, amenities and VALUE.

Property is located in a nice area. I did not expect this hotel not to have access to an eating breakfat area as other hotels have. Would have been nice to be able to eat breakfast in an open area along with other guest.
