Initial impression was fantastic. Freshly built or renovated, furnishings fun and modern, vibes, kind of a 60s throwback but for 2020s! Room was clean. 4 stars instead of 5 for a few minor issues -black ice in sidewalk in front of water discharge pipe, slipped and thankfully didn’t fall (thanks Shawn T!) -hot cold markers in shower were reversed (or water lines reversed), got scalding hot water before trying the other direction -Ethernet access under the desk was disconnected, so I used the TV cable, which juts meant I couldn’t have background tv while I worked. -got a late checkout at noon, staff knocked on my door at 11:58 while I was finishing a work call, dogs went nuts, awkward finish to work. Walked out the door fully packed despite all that at 12:07, they can charge me if they want but it was kind of rude to knock early, with the do not disturb sign hung up, before my checkout time. If it wasn’t for that last sour note, I’d probably have left a 5 star review and juts updated the manager about the other minor-ish issues (besides the black ice in the sidewalk…that could have easily injured someone badly especially if they were elderly)

They built the hotel a little too cheap because you can hear everything outside. The highway and what made me unhappy about my stay was it was a dog next-door kept on barking all night so that’s what I didn’t like about it but other than that, everything else was OK aw wait it’s overrated because the price is not matching the hotel $145. That’s too much for that place.

This place was awesome. Even after having issues with the power in our room cutting off the staff worked tirelessly to resolve the issue quickly and gave us another room to stay in which no problems at all. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the complementary breakfast ,hot chocolate, tea, and coffee made our stay a great one. This is hotel remains at the top of our list when traveling.

The Tru experience caters to young travelers. Rooms are spartan and dark. Staff in friendly. Try to find light switches in the rooms. Rates are competitive.
