The room is a bit dated with minimal soundproofing. The shower was tricky, choosing between strong water pressure and a comfortable temperature; it was either very hot or barely flowing. I also found a bug on one of the beds, which was concerning. That said, the location is excellent, right inside the park with easy access to dining options and a convenient store.

Great place to stay

Well it’s one of three hotels to stay at in Death Valley. It has everything. Food, a bit of shopping, golf, pool and decent WiFi. Quite important since there’s no cell service.

Convenient location but don’t stay long in July

The location is the reason to stay here. Very convenient. It is much more affordable than The Inn. There is no temperature control for your shower- temperature is whatever the underground water is so it came out scalding hot the first week of July. We used ice to help cool our bath water. We had not noticed in previous stays because we have come during different seasons (spring/fall/not July). The shower water was fine during previous visits (maybe a little cold during early spring). Bathroom had a bit of a smell. It must be difficult to clean properly with only hot water available. It’s been cleaner in previous visits. It looked like some rooms were being updated in a different building.The A/C was working great. The food was better at Stovepipe Wells. If you like lots of cooked green leafy vegetables, bring your own cooked ones. You have a mini fridge. You can ask for a microwave at no extra charge. I would not stay here during July again, but on the other hand, the park was not crowded: and you are conveniently located so you’re not overly tired after hiking to return to your room. Maybe ask if out of park hotels offer cold water. Not sure if either The Inn or Stovepipe Wells have cold water in the showers.

Nice clean rooms with Friendly Staff

The person at the front desk was super friendly and offered a lot of information and recommendations for Death Valley. The room was nice for a family of 4. The fridge wasn’t too cold so it took overnight for our drinks to get cold. We really liked the filtered water dispenser that wasn’t too far from our room. They were eco friendly with large bottles of hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner. One downside we noticed was that the coffee packets and tea bags in the room were dirty…seemed like coffee was splashed all over it and never cleaned but not a deal breaker. Overall, I would stay here again if I was in Death Valley again.
