The location for this hotel is spot on. Edinburgh Castle is a short 6 min walk. There is a coffee shop right next door and many restaurants nearby. We tried Makars Mash Bar the first night we arrived…100% recommended. One of the guys on the night shift pretty rude, but the rest of the staff was nice. Also, the rooms are a bit worn down. The curtain rod in our room was falling off. Other than that,I would recommend this hotel.

The rooms were amazingly spacious with a big bed, couch, table and chairs. The bathroom was huge and the in-room amenities were much appreciated. We also liked the laundry room on site. The location was excellent, right off the Royal Mile, and near all kinds of great places, such as the art museum. Everything was in easy walking distance. Highly recommended!

The room was very comfortable with a great view. Good shower and very comfy bed. The staff were all very nice, professional, helpful and friendly. My only negative is that the screen on the rowing machine wasn’t working, apart from that everything was excellent

Property located right in the heart of the Edinburgh Royal Mile. Lots of restaurants, walking tours and touristy sites in close proximity. Staff were friendly and courteous. Building was quiet except for the occasional occupant allowing the self closing room doors to slam at night. The breakfast was ok but not what I would call good quality for value. The room was equipped with a very nice microwave oven, bar fridge, kettle and toaster, which helps with the high cost of dining out by dining in. Marks & Spencer’s was an easy walk which has a very good grocery department. I would stay there again if I were to return to Edinburgh.

Extremely nice hotel and amazingly close to everything in old-town Edinburgh. Right on the Royal Mile and few minute walk to Edinburgh Castle. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely experience and location was excellent, right in the middle of the Royal Mile and easy to walk to all the shops and restaurants. Breakfast was minimal in offerings but decent. The rooms are small and the hallways and staircases were difficult to traverse with a lot of luggage.

Location Location and Location!!!

It was only an overnight stay so I wanted to be located centrally to the castle, the church and all those street shows for the Fringe and events. The hotel was very clean, nice and the staff were very helpful. We are definitely staying there gain next year and longer.

Such a convenient location and a beautiful building right off the royal mile. It was the perfect base camp for exploring Edinburgh in August during Fringe AND the Tattoo. I'll absolutely stay here again. Some of the winding hallways will have you feeling like you're in Harry Potter with the moving staircases though, but it was just the standard character that all the older buildings there have and is in no way a drawback, just a fun experience we weren't expecting.
