We booked two city view rooms at this hotel. Unfortunately, one of the rooms had a severely damaged bathroom — many fixtures were broken, and we couldn’t even turn on the water because the handle was missing. To make matters worse, the phone in the room wasn’t working, so when we discovered the issue late at night, there was no way to contact the front desk.
We ended up using the bathroom in the other room to shower, which was quite inconvenient.
The next morning, we reported the issue to the front desk. The male staff member responded with a very flat “sorry,” followed by something we couldn’t quite catch — not because it was complicated, but because his tone was so indifferent and procedural that it felt like the matter was already closed.
There was no real concern, no attempt to understand what we went through, no “Oh no, I’m really sorry, this shouldn’t have happened” — just a quiet, matter-of-fact response, as if the inconvenience didn’t matter now that we were checking out.
It left us feeling that our experience and discomfort were not acknowledged at all.
