One of Gili Air's Best Places to Stay

I really enjoyed my stay at Ombak Paradise. The location is excellent and the staff professional. A couple of highlights of this property would be the massive swimming pool as well as the beach area.

Clean & comfortable room and bed, spacious shower with good water pressure. Wonderful pool - the best pool ever! Very accommodating staff, so helpful. I hope everyone is doing ok after the 5 Aug earthquake. And for the hotel to be back in shape to receive future customers and rebuild the tourism industry at Gili Air. Much love from us.

Super lovely and attentive staff. The room was nice and spacious and the property is right across from the beach which was lovely. Gorgeous sunset right around the corner. The sink in our bathroom wouldn't drain at all our second day there (surely an easy fix) and the bathroom had an overall funky smell. The internet was almost impossibly slow, but if you're here to disconnect, it shouldn't be an issue. Breakfast had lots of options, local and Western, as well as an omelette station.

Good hotel with a good location!

Good hotel with a perfect location close to the nicest beaches on the island. Sunset BBQ with fair prices. Fresh bedroom and big bathroom. Highly Recommended.

Great hotel, could make a few improvements

Overall we found our stay at this hotel very pleasant. The best thing about it is the staff. They are curtious, polite and go above and beyond to serve you. In particular one chap behind the pool bar named Mady was exceptional. The room was a very good size and had everything we needed. The pool was fantastic and right outside our door. My two main criticisms are that the hotel claims to be ‘environmentally friendly’ and preserving the future of the island, however, when asked where we could fill our water bottles up (we would have been happy to pay) rather than buy new plastic bottles they couldn’t help. I think the hotel should offer this for a greener environment and to be true to their promise. Secondly, the WiFi was absolutely awful which is to be fair, expected of a hotel on such a small island. The only place we could get a connection was the main lobby, not great when you’re relying on WiFi for work etc. The staff did attempt to resolve this for us by putting a booster in our room but it made no difference. However, it may be a WiFi free hotel you are looking for for total relaxation, if it is- this place is perfect.

SENSATIONAL Resort!

We loved Ombak Paradise so much that we extended our holiday at the resort for an extra week. We loved everything about Ombak Paradise! The staff are wonderfully kind and helpful. The rooms are huge, clean and lovely. The 100m pool is sensational. The resorts location on the beautiful, white beach is amazing. The cooked breakfast and the view at breakfast is fabulous!!!

Very commercial

Great location on the beach and close to local nightlife. Love the location, resort was huge and impeded a bit on the landscape. Hotel did not provide a room change on my second day and the staff were average. Whilst I probably wouldn’t stay here again and opt for something less commercial I enjoyed my stay and in terms of location couldn’t be much better.

Needs some work.

Had potential to be great. Rooms, staff and pool were nice. But the smell in the bathrooms was intolerable. It came through the drains and tried to be covered up with a chemical smell that smelt like urinal pucks. Made me nauseous and gave me headaches. No fresh water in bathrooms taps and showers are salt water. Food was average. If they could deal with the smell it could be a very nice place to stay.

The hotel is the biggest on the island. The hotel isn't new but the construction doesn't seem to be finished with lots of building rubble and materials around the hotel. The movie on the beach was nice but should be free for hotel guests. The pool is pretty and very big, except the diving pool wasn't green.

Solo traveler enjoying the island

The hotel is in a great location and very clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. As a female solo traveler I felt very safe here. I also have a severe allergy to mold, and unlike many other places in Indonesia, there wasn't any mildewy smell in the room, so I had no problem with my allergies.

OK, but not the best

We were very lucky and got this hotel at a super cheap price such that it was the cheapest hotel of our whole 3-week trips, so we can't complain too much, but I would have been annoyed has we paid close to £100 a night. The pool is amazing (could do with a bit of a clean) and there were loads of sun beds free (although the hotel was no where near full). We didn't visit the beach as the pool was excellent. Breakfast was OK, mainly Indonesian food despite most guests being Western. Although there was toast, pastries, yogurt, fruit, cereals and chef preparing eggs, so you won't go hungry. The rooms were OK, but clearly not finished. Just tatty around the edges and the bathrooms were pretty horrid with very little ventilation. The show was half salt and half fresh water, which is not uncommon on the island, but not what you expect from a "top end" hotel. The food is crazy expensive - 35,000 for a bottle of water, when it's 10,000 in the shops and other restaurant and 70,000 for a Bintang when its 40,000 in the shops and other Restaurants. The food we did see other people ordering didn't look that great. They offer a beach BBQ, but shop around as most restaurants do them. They offer a movie on the beach each night, which is really cool, although it gets quite busy so get there early to get a beach-bag. If you're into diving, head to &-Seas as they were amazing.

Nice place to stay on Gili Air

Hotel Ombak is nice. They just recently opened and are still doing some construction so there was a bit of construction noise during our trip. The pool is huge. We were lucky enough to have it to ourselves most of the time. Breakfast was just so so, but there were a few good things. This is the biggest hotel on gili and is a bit nicer than everything on the island. They have a big section on the beach, but there is a lot of coral and it's shallow. It is close to nicer sections around the corner (mowie's). Knocking down a star since the rooms and common areas needed finishing touches. The quality of the craftsmanship on the rooms was kind of spotty (paint splatters, grout on the tile, ill fitting doors, sun damaged wood decking, etc). They also played loud music on the beach that wasn't all that relaxing. Overall the place is pretty good and I am sure will be great once they figure the kinks out. I think they are still in a soft opening because there are probably 100+ rooms and they were only at 5-10% capacity during our trip

Behind one wing of hotel is still buiding site, so we had to change room due to such noise of hammers and cutting tubes. When we came to our room, it looks like we are first guests there, we had to ask for chairs and table to balcony (chairs were still packed in front of rooms). The rooms will be also great after hiding cables from wall, screwing the safe to be uneable to steal it, wifi works only lobby and arounf the pool (pool is super great! love it) and cleaning the cement between the tiles in bathroom. During one night there was also a couple (5) short blackouts of electrocity and finaly in new room, there wasn't hot water in the shower. This hotel will be great and I would love to come here again, but in couple of weeks/month time...

Godt hotel, meget turistet ø

Alt i alt et godt ophold. Vi boede på hotellet i næsten en uge, og det var nok lidt for lang tid for os - men det havde mere med øens muligheder at gøre, end hotellet. Øen er fuldstændig overrendt af turister, dog er priserne på mad osv. stadig OK rimelige. Hotellet var kæmpestort og har øens største pool. Den var super og virkede ren. Der var alle slags dybder og meget anbefalelsesværdig. Værelset var stort med både dobbeltseng og sovesofa. Badeværelset indendørs og også meget stort. En dag oplevede vi dog, at der ikke var noget vand. Det tog dem rigtig lang tid at fikse, og var ret irriterende, men det kan jo ske. Man skal vænne sig til korte og længerevarende strømafbrydelser på hele øen, disse mærkede man dog ikke noget til på hotellet, så det var super godt! Hotellet ligger på stranden og i gåafstand fra havnen, hvor det meste liv også er, så det er godt. Om aftenen vises der film på stranden i fatboy liggestole, hvilket er virkelig hyggeligt. Morgenmaden er buffet med et stort udvalg.
