The lighting was glaring and awful. Three floodlights in the ceiling. The mattress was encased in a stiff plastic cover. The mattress was agreeably firm and would have been comfortable but for the cover. No glass of any type in the room. Two of the smallest pieces of soap I have ever seen and two similarly sized packets of shampoo made up the toiletries. Synthetic stone tile on the bathroom floor and shower walls appeared relatively new, although the grouting was not complete. The owner was very pleasant and steered me to an excellent restaurant downtown, Pato Thai Cuisine. I''m sure for something around the $100 mark, this room was $94, you can do better a be little closer to the downtown bar and restaurant district.

For the most part, it was fine, very basic. What I did not like is the mattresses are covered with plastic so I felt like I was sleeping on a baby crib mattress, crinkling every time you move.

The biggest issue was the cleanliness of the room. The floors were sticky, there were crumbs in the bed, the bathroom wasn't cleaned, and the room wasn't even straightened up the next day as garbage wasn't taken out.

Nice place! This hotel was built in the heyday of Route 66. This place is restored and upgraded and still fits in as a comfy and legit Route 66 hotel. Nice folks up front. Close to a lot of places in Flagstaff.
