The staff was warm and welcoming. The room was clean with comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom was nice and spacious with enough enough towels for everyone. There was a restaurant on site that had a great selection of food. The outdoor pool was open and heated. Plenty to do in the area all within walking distance.

We loved the Powder House Lodge. On our way to Mt. Rushmore, heading home to Reno, Nevada. We made reservations while driving, took a chance and made the right choice. Excellent place to stay. We stayed over night and plan a return trip and stay for several days. The food at the restaurant was outstanding, as was the staff, our room and the surrounding area. A really good location to kick back and enjoy the quiet.

This property exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly, it had the best restaurant in the area (the server Gavin was one of the best servers we've ever had), and it even had an EV charger - which wasn't advertised. I'd highly recommend.

Good deal for price, just needs a little attention

The room was clean, charming cabin look. The bed was comfortable. For the money you pay for the room, overall it was good. The restaurant was very good and would go back just to eat there. The location was great. 8 minutes to Mt Rushmore and just around corner from shops. The reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5, the air unit for the room was extremely loud, we finally turned it off, but then the mini fridge was loud when the compressor turned on during its cycles. Made for a long night. Also, being one with allergies to fragrance, the room had so much fragrance in it, I had to take benedryl. It was strong. I would advise the managers to consider using less of whatever they are using. It was overpowering. I would pass on staying there again just because of that reason.

Opening Day! Great Time!

Stayed in cabin #59 at the top of the property. It was near the toad but felt so secluded. The cabin was clean and newly furnished. The restaurant was yummy, too. I’ll be back just to visit Powder House Lodge!
