Honestly would never stay again. We were told we had the option of either getting our trash taken out from our hotel room or offered a drink in exchange for them not having to take the trash out. On top of that when I went to go wash some clothes, the washing machines were in very poor conditions and the washing machine area smelled like mildew. Instead of them fixing the issue there was just a layer of towels spread out across the washing machines?? Not sure what that was about, but this was the worst out of the 3 hotels we stayed at and would strongly urge anyone to please book elsewhere for a better experience in Kyoto.

Rooms were clean and had air conditioning. Staff were friendly and were able to speak English allowing for easy check-in/out. Amenities did include a private bath that could be reserved. It was a short walk from Kyoto station which was great for commuting.

Area close to the train station in walking distance. They can send your luggage to the next hotel in Japan at the reception. It’s clean. Contras: cannot open the window wide, they offered me a choice to get a room cleaned ONCE in four days or to get two canned drinks. I used the laundry Maschines in the basement and had to use the dryer multiple times (you need coins) and it’s performance was unsatisfactory.

Good but I expected a bit more

Nice hotel at a good location. Friendly staff. The room was small. Double bed was placed to the wall so at night the other person needs to crawl over the other. Airco was not individual but centrally steered. There are washing machines and dryers available against a small fee. Also there's a central kitchen which you can use to heat or prepare some food or make coffee or tea.

Coming from a rather lack luster hotel in Ginza, Tune Stay blew me away. Yes the rooms may be small, but those small rooms are made up for in spades with a great atmosphere, amazing amenities and a truly helpful and kind staff that really made staying with them like you were staying with friends that happen to have a really swanky pad, a brilliant collection of Japanese gins and whiskeys to try, a library that is as beautiful visually as it is diverse in nature and a sampling of indie short films to wind down the evening where my friends and I would recount the days exploits. The beds here were also the most comfortable of all the places we stayed while in Japan, which was a HUGE plus over our rock slab beds at the hotel we were at previously in Ginza. The rooms are very clean and comfortable even if tight space wise. Location wise it was a pretty easy walk to the Kyoto station, and a decent walk to some of the cities hot spots. Honestly I can’t recommend this place enough and I know we’ll be booking rooms here each time we return to Kyoto in future trips.

The hotel was convenient and close to the Kyoto train station. The rooms were small but comfortable and clean. The common area had a nice well equipped kitchen with free coffee and tea as well as an amazing library.

Great place to stay in Tokyo that was only around 10min walk from Kyoto station. Loved the vibes of the hotel and that there were short film screenings every evening. Staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the room was nicely organised and cleaned.

The property was great. Modern design, clean and close to Kyoto station. The room I got was with window but dark, for the budget I had this is acceptable and not a major issue. The bed was comfortable. There are options for pillow, but none suit me sadly.

When we first arrived at the hotel, the staff was so friendly! Any question we asked, they would look it up if they did not know the answer instead of saying they did not know like we experienced at other hotels. The room was very cute. We had everything that we needed. I would highly recommend this hotel to travelers.
