Scalding HOT Water

For the past week, I have been staying at a nearby hospital with my mother (newly diagnosed with lung cancer). Due to staying by my mothers side, I had not bathed in over a week and desperately wanted a shower. After tucking my mother into her hospital bed, I came to the Hilton Garden Inn--St. Matthews. I paid $185 for my room to shower, and do a little laundry in the credit card operated machines. The water in my bathroom (shower and sink) is SCALDING HOT. It is so scalding hot, that my skin got burned. I called the front desk immediately (12:45 AM). I was offered another room or for maintenance to come. I declined. It's bedtime, all my laundry is spread out in this room and I am exhausted. The front desk was rude and unwilling to comp my next stay. ESSENTIALLY, I PAID $185 FOR A ROOM & GOT BURNED BY A SCALDING HOT SHOWER!!!! MY SKIN IS BURNED.

I love that this little gem is right here in St. Matthews. I was needing a two night getaway with my fiancé to celebrate us being together 1 year. (Feb 23, 24) we have been so happy with our accommodations and we love the atmosphere so much. We both love shopping too, so with Dillards ar our back door attached to Mall St Matthews, who could complain!? We will most certainly be back and are delighted we could spend our 1 year anniversary here!

When I plugged in the hairdryer it shot sparks out of it and did not work. The hotel is not maintained, and the pictures on-line are very outdated. It took the front desk staff over 20 minutes to show up and check us in.

Staff was excellent. There was blood on our pillows and sheet when we get to get into the bed that night. Absolutely disgusting. Staff did bring us clean pillow cases and sheets. After we changed all bedding we were finally able to get into bed.

We were unable to get into our room with multiple new keys. After a 3rd trip to the desk the receptionist finally came up to let us in. I was told they would add points to my account but they did not.

The mediocre restaurant was only open one out of 3 evenings. Traffic in the area was gridlocked. View was of a big box store’s dumpsters and loading dock.
