For the price, the location and room were excellent. The room was much larger and better equipped than various similarly priced places I've stayed nearby. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and having 24 hr reception was also convenient. Can be noisy sometimes eg late nights on weekends, but it is expected given the location. Would stay again.

Was close the great restaurants and entertainment of Lygon st. Piano bar next door was amazing. Piano man plays every Friday and Saturday.

Facilities like shower & toilet very run down. It took ages for me to get luke war water to take a shower. Staff charged me $30 parking fee because I booked with Expedia & not directly with the hotel. Complaint made to Expedia whom refunded the parking fee. I will never go back to Carlton Lodge again.

Staff were great, we were in the room overlooking the street and we found it too noisy from the live music in the restaurant nest door and too many cars with loud exhaust systems. And motorcycles. The hotel was convenient for our needs, short walk to trams. It also would have been nice to have clothes storage so we had to live out of our luggage bags for our six night stay.
