A gem of a place!

When I booked this hotel, I was skeptical, having stayed in other Casino type places. But I was very impressed with this hotel. It was clean, the attached restaurant superb, and the room was absolutely delightful. I was expecting it to be noisy, but we never heard a peep all night. An exceptional place at a very reasonable price. My partner and I were so impressed we are going to write to the Hotel General Manager to compliment him on a great place.

The Billy Barker hotel was an amazing place! The food was great; the location was convenient. The ambiance of the Gold Rush era was all around. We had a medical issue at home and had to cancel our second night abrubtly, and the desk person said that she would see what she could do (I booked through Expedia). My receipt showed the one night only. Very much appreciated!

Friendly staff and a unique outside of the building. Good value for the room that was clean but nothing beyond that. Best place around in my opinion was Barkerville Brewing, they had awesome beer.

As I left on my last day,some guy was handling a bike locked on a truck. We eyeballed each other,and then he left. Zero parking security. On a lighter note,the clubhouse sandwich left a little to be desired. Soggy and over fried fries. Front end staff and cleaning was very good.overall I give 4 out of 5

The property is clean and the staff are friendly. It’s an older hotel but has been maintained. Doors and floors are a little creaky but nothing that made us want to leave. We did find the pillows too hard for our liking.

AC was very noisy, street noises began early, early in the morning and continued throughout the day, not the cleanest hotel with built up grime visible in bathrooms and public areas. Beds were too soft and there were very limited electrical outlets for charging devices. No refund given when we checked out a day early despite checking out early in the day.
