Overall an excellent stay at Sand, great room, perfect location in terms of sights, shopping and food (highly recommend Ox). Breakfast did the job but nothing amazing….. you are on top of 2 of the best bakeries in the city with v yummy cinnamon buns so personally think that’s a better option. We’d come back!

This is the second time I have stayed at the Sand Hotel in Reykjavik. It is a great hotel in the best location in the city! The room are pretty simple, but I don't need anything fancy; I would say that they are looking a little beat up and could use some touch-up painting on the trim, but that is about all. The included breakfast is wonderful! Overall a very nice European style hotel in the heart of an amazing city!

We really loved our stay at the Sand Hotel. The room was quiet and perfect for the two of us. The breakfast was sublime. We even tried their next door bakery outside of breakfast hours. Definitely give that a try too. The only downside to the Sand Hotel was parking. We were tired after our flight and did not prepare for parking. That added a little stress to our visit. So, plan ahead, understand the parking options, and you’ll be in good shape.

Was a great hotel. Pretty close to everything. Staff has helpful maps for street parking if you have a car. Breakfast was very good, and probably saves you a lot of $$ eating at the hotel. Elevator was broken on our way out, but we were able to carry our bags down the stairs.

Everything abou this hotel was great! Room was small, but expect that in Europe, but we were surprised at the lack of storage. Pretty much just a small area to hang clothes and a shelf underneath you can put your suitcase and just take your cothes from there. The breakfast was very good...no hot options, but we knew that. The location is amazing, right in the middle of the pedestrian street.
